Let’s talk about the good old days…

Remember 2017? When we were out here slangin’ fried chicken sandwiches for six-fiddy like it was nothing.

We’ve been thinking… maybe it’s time to bring some of those OG Homeboys dishes back for a limited run.

We know we’ve been a bit off the street food radar lately. Running a restaurant is no joke, and right now, it’s harder than ever. But we’ve been working on plans behind the scenes, and the comeback is on its way.

We came back with a couple of wins:

🥈 2nd Place Judges’ Choice – Tom Yum Nashville Hot Oil Wild Wing
🥉 3rd Place People’s Choice – Hickory Smoked Ginger & Yuzu BBQ

Wingfest is always a vibe, and it looks like we’ve officially subscribed to the madness every year now (still figuring out if we can smash out more than one). Not entirely sure why—it’s a logistical nightmare and we don’t even sell wings for the remaining 362 days of the year 😅 but who doesn’t enjoy a crispy AF chicken wing dipped in all the sawce!?

What a weekend dahn at Derby’s very own for 2025!

This was our 2nd year amid the madness, sharing the field with some of the country’s top street‑food traders, and no one was pulling any punches 💪

🏅 2nd Place, Judges’ Choice
Tom Yum Nashville Hot with Coconut Lime Ranch.
This one won over the experts. Packed with fragrant aromatics, spicy, tangy, and finished with that cooling coconut‑lime dipper. These are quickly becoming a Homeboys staple 👌

🏅3rd Place, People’s Choice
Yuzu BBQ with Smoked Dashi Baconnaise
A crowd‑pleaser that balanced citrus brightness and umami‑rich smokiness. These were an all round banger that had you lickin’ them digits for that sticky, smoky goodness.

We’ll be back at Bustler Derby this bank holiday weekend for their Big Birthday Weekender, where you can get your hands on our award‑winning Yuzu BBQ wings 🍗

And if you’re craving that Tom Yum Nashville Hot, fear not—we’ll be slinging ’em at our sister restaurant 💘
