The sun is shining and the dream team are in the orchard picking Somerset Redstreak apples.

These apples are at the... core (no, remove) of our c***r and we've loved helping to manage this space and get the best out of the trees year after year.

A solid morning had ahead of some well deserved lunch pints.

We had a blast today over at the Summerwood Community Garden Apple Day with Dr LJBees.

There was an excellent turnout despite the wet weather and the Beast herself was quite happy to sit under cover, drink hot mulled apple juice and munch on fresh apple crumbles.

Nottingham CAMRA Festival completed, recovery done: Now back to it!

We're over at Summerwood Community Garden this morning picking fruit and pondering winter pruning.

Tomorrow we will be back for the annual Apple Day starting at 11:00 until 13:00.

It's called fashion sweaty, look it up.

Absolutely fantastic day at the Nottingham CAMRA Festival yesterday with a solid amount of c***rs 'sampled for research purposes'.

Great to catch up with everyone there and we apologise again for JD's attire.

Us, in our neat little c***ry: Ah, finally things are going well for Ol' SCC. Wait, what the hell was that?

Our 90l Hydropress: Hey guys, this is a nice little c***ry you have here. Would be a shame if someone... exploded!

After a good few years of hard graft, the rubber bladder on our press finally gave up and popped mid-pressing. Wizard.

While we searched for coins down the back of the sofa to buy a replacement bladder, we were left with four barrels of pomace that needed to be pressed.

Langar C***r to the rescue!

Mere minutes after receiving a teary phone call, the Langar van turned up, barrels were hoofed and we got to spend the evening playing with the big kit.

Massive thanks to those guys who really saved us in our hour of need.

If you're heading to Nottingham CAMRA Festival, Langar have both their iconic 'Our Orchard' available and a mighty 8.4% Pyder.

Go and show them some love.

Tomorrow Nottingham CAMRA Festival kicks off and two of our best can be found on their East Midlands C***r Bar.

First up is St Anns and Deliver, our 6.8% collab with the Nottingham Dry C***r specialists: St Anns C***r Club.
You know Dabinett, you know Yarlington Mill, and you know how well those two varieties blend together. It's well balanced and moreish, a r**t lip smacker.

On the perry side, we have a tiny 5l offering of Perry This!, our continued experiment into the making of perry. Again its dry, very crisp, 6.3% with just a hint of that pear sweetness we know and love.

We're really happy with both of these and hope you will be too. The c***r (and b**r, we suppose, if you like *that* sort of thing) line up is looking immense and we are ready to get slurpin'.

See you at the bar!

The Ferm Shed awaits!

Its the final weekend before Nottingham CAMRA B**r and C***r Festival and the delivery deadline is tomorrow.

So of course that means the c***r is already blended and BiBed, right? Right?

This time next week we'll be on our way to Nottingham CAMRA B**r and C***r Festival to engage in some serious 'market research' at the c***r bar.

You may say we're a little preemptively excited...

Last week: Right, apples into the washing baths then into barrels for milling. Bad backs and long hours all around.

This week: Uh, why don't you just wash them in the sink then put them into trug buckets?
.. Yeah... We totally knew that was an option...

About 350kgs washed and ready to go, all through the power of Trug!

These will be milled tonight and pressed Saturday morning into a single variety Somerset Redstreak.
