Dear customers,

Now that we have provided the police with the CCTV footage and that the aggressor himself has also posted a few seconds of footage that falsely present him as innocent, we are able to also provide CCTV footage for everyone.

We do not allow anyone to harass and shout at female members of staff and we do not allow anyone to assault our older managers.

In this footage, the man enters the store and drops a food item onto the counter and begins to swear at the female members of staff and continues his aggressive behaviour towards them.

He continues to threaten and swear at them until the 60 year old manager intervenes. He finally says what the issue is only when the male manager gets involved and demands a refund whilst shouting, swearing and making violent threats.

When the manager informs him that he cannot treat the staff members like that, he continues to provoke the 60 year old manager with threats, foul language and an aggressive tone. The manager can be seen waving his hands in the air, asking the man to calm down, but the man proceeds to assault the manager with the food item instead.

The CCTV then shows the manager grabbing his phone to call the police and the man instantly grabs his own phone to illegally record the staff after knowing that committed a criminal action. He does this to pose as innocent, not knowing that our CCTV captured him as being the aggressor. Had we not called the police, he may have mistakenly attempted to become even more violent.

It is surprising that a grown man could lack such basic manners and as a fellow business owner, he should know better than to harass female members of staff and to assault older men and to continue provoking everyone.

Had he politely asked for a refund, then he would have received one. Additionally, food items cannot be refunded once thrown at people and onto the floor. Unfortunately, his lack of basic manners and decency prevented this.

As professionals, we decided to not physically remove him from the premises and instead called the police, as any business owner should. We would like to thank them for their quick and efficient service. May this video also serve as a warning for other business owners to watch out for this disruptive individual.

Thank you for your support.

Dear customers,

Unfortunately today there was an incident involving a very aggressive customer.

We shall not name this person or share the CCTV footage of his malicious actions so as to not intrude upon his privacy, though we shall be sharing this footage with the police.

This man entered the shop and began to speak to the female members of staff in a highly aggressive manner, with a complete lack of respect. When the staff members attempted to ask him what the issue was in order to resolve the situation, he told them that the issue wasn't any of their business and demanded a refund.

He then began to shout at the members of staff and continued to harass them until a manager intervened to try and calm the situation down, but the man continued with this behaviour and then proceeded to assault the manager by throwing the food at his face with force. He also decided that it would be a good idea to break the wet-floor sign.

Since he continued with his violent behaviour and started to make threats of physical violence, the manager said that he was calling the police. The man then decided to begin recording with his phone in an attempt to pretend that he was innocent and had stopped a lot of his previous shows of bravado since he knew the police would be on their way.

He refused to leave the premises and continued to make threats and when the staff attempted to get him to stop recording them as this is against their privacy and a form of harassment (meaning that this was illegal recording since he had been asked to stop), he refused to co-operate and continued to make threats of physical violence against all of them.
Had the police not been on their way - which he was aware of - it was likely that he would have continued on from his assault earlier and committed battery against the members of staff.

We would like to thank the police for arriving quickly to resolve the situation and for handling the matter well. We shall be providing them with CCTV footage of this incident to them and the man has been banned from Wollaton Fish Bar. This means that if he attempts to enter the shop again, there will be immediate legal action.

We at Wollaton Fish Bar do not tolerate such violent and aggressive behaviour towards our members of staff and management, especially the harassment the man had aimed at the female members of staff who had tried to politely fix the issue he had.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful customers - whether they are new customers or regular customers - who are always polite to us. We always have and always will aim to give you the best food and best service that we can. Additionally, we would like to thank the police once more for helping us today.

Thank you and kind regards,

Management and Staff of Wollaton Fish Bar.
