An impressive green space, Woodthorpe Grange Park is set on the edge of the city and has a mix of landsc
apes including formal gardens, green houses, grassland and small wooded areas. It has a 19th century Grade II listed manor house, an 18 hole pitch and putt course, two football pitches, a Tropical House, 'sunken garden' with water feature and there is a plant shop. The environmentally friendly café kiosk with a 'green' roof made of sedum and has been designed to complement its beautiful surroundings in Woodthorpe Grange Park. Encouraging plant growth and wildlife, the sedum roof forms blue-green rosettes of succulent foliage in summer. Light tubes enable natural daylight to enter the building, movement sensors minimise electric lighting and automatic push taps avoid water waste.
