*Important announcement* - Friday 25th Sept

Hi all, as many of you know we will be saying goodbye to Karen our landlady (Nick’s mum) on Friday.

Her funeral will take place at 9.30 at Rushcliffe Oaks Crematorium in Cotgrave and the funeral car will bring her to the pub for one last journey. They’ll be arriving just before 9 if anyone would like to pay their respects.

The pub will open when we get back (around 12-12.30). We intend to close early on Friday and will be calling last orders by 10pm.

*Important announcement* - Changes to opening hours

Firstly we'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has offered their help and worked at the pub while we've taken time to process our loss.

As we continue to navigate this difficult time we feel it necessary to change the opening hours. From next week on a trial basis we will be open at the following times:

Monday 4pm - 10.30pm
Tuesday 3pm - 10.30pm
Wednesday 3pm - 10.30pm
Thursday - 3pm - 11pm
Friday - 12pm - 11.30pm
Saturday - 11.30am - 11.30pm
Sunday - 11.30am - 10.30pm

Thank you to all our customers for your patience and understanding, we will be providing details of Mum's funeral in the next few days.

With very heavy hearts we wanted to let our customers know of the sudden passing of our Landlady Karen.

As you can imagine this is a very difficult time for the family and close friends and although we will try our best to keep the pub open, there will be disruption while we navigate our loss.

We may need to close earlier and you will see some different faces behind the bar supporting us. We ask for your patience and understanding and would like to extend our thanks to everyone who has offered to help and sent messages, it’s all very much appreciated.

This is a bitter sweet post to write, some of you will already know for the past couple of years Ive been balancing the pub with being an on call fire fighter and my family. After 13 years at the Cranmer I've taken the decision to step away and build a career in the fire service. Its not been an easy decision and I'll miss the chats, the banter and pouring pints. I'll still be around to help out at events so this isn't goodbye! My last proper shift will be Friday 31st so will be having a few drinks to celebrate if you're free to pop down. Thank you for all your support and I'll leave you in the capable hands of Karen & Mark ❤️
