⭐️ Another 5-star Food Hygiene Rating! ⭐️

We’re incredibly proud to share that our Social Shop at Holy Trinity Church, Rackheath has been awarded a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This achievement doesn’t happen by chance. It reflects the care, commitment and high standards shown by our amazing team every single week.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteer Karen, who works tirelessly behind the scenes in our kitchen, and to our brilliant Youth Ambassador, Liv, who continues to grow in confidence while playing such an important role in helping our projects run smoothly.

From food safety and preparation to welcoming families with a smile, every volunteer and team member plays a part in creating spaces that people can trust.

We’re so proud of everything they’ve achieved and grateful for the time, passion and kindness they bring to Social Moments.

🍣 To celebrate World Sushi Day tomorrow! 🍣

Our Tasty Bites cooking workshop is all about trying something new! 🌈

We’ll be rolling up our sleeves (and our sushi! 😉) as the children make their own colourful sushi rolls from scratch.

At Social Moments, our cooking workshops aren’t just about making food they’re about building confidence, encouraging children to explore new flavours, and having lots of fun along the way.

Who knows… we might even have a few future sushi chefs in the making! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Want to become a member at Social Moments but not sure how it works? It’s super simple, and we’d love to welcome you! 👋✨

Signing up costs just £3 for your first year, and then £5 a year after that.

Once you have your membership, you get full access to all of our weekly hub services:

🛒 The Social Shop: Head over to our Rackheath Studio on Mondays, 1pm–3pm, and Wednesdays, 11am–1pm. No need to book ahead! Come fill a basket with groceries at a fraction of high street prices, plus free fresh fruit, veg, and bakery items with every shop.

🍲 Tasty Bites: Held at our Rackheath Studio, these are our fun, hands-on cooking sessions for kids! It’s a brilliant way for children to get stuck into making delicious food, try new things, and learn great kitchen skills.
(Spaces must be booked in advance. This session is £3 for one child, or £5 for two siblings).

🎨 Early Explorers: Hosted at Holy Trinity Church in Rackheath, these are our weekly wellbeing and sensory sessions for children up to age 5. It's a relaxed space for the little ones and a great chance for parents to grab a coffee and chat.
(Spaces must be booked in advance. This session is £2 per child, which includes a breakfast snack and a drink for the little one, plus a hot drink for the adult!).

One affordable membership opens the door to affordable food, great family sessions, and a supportive local community.

Meet our new Tasty Bites volunteer, Jasmin 🍏🌽🧄

Jasmin brings a wealth of catering knowledge to our team, we can’t wait for you to meet her, you will be in very safe hands.

“I’ve joined Tasty Bites as I think it’s really important for children to understand where their food is from and how it’s made. It gives them a level of inderpendance whilst keeping them safe, and also teaching them how to work together and share. I love to bring my child and baby along too, as a way of getting us all out and about, my little Lorelai is learning so many social skills at such a young age, and I'd encourage anyone with young babies and a toddler to bring them both.”

For just £2 per child every parent/carer is welcome to a free hot drink with complimentary water, fruit and pastries available for children.

We’re open this Bank Holiday Monday 🍅

We’ve secured our usual donation slots to offer you free bakery items and fruit and veg. And the team FareShare are working too and will be delivering our usual order of 120kg of food!

If you’re needing to top up your cupboards with affordable food then do pop in, where the team and our amazing volunteers will be ready to welcome you 💙

What a wonderful week ❤️

Thank you to Jake from the Health and Wellbeing Partnership Broadland District Council for visiting us this week to spend time with our volunteers and members.

Without the support and funding from the Health and Wellbeing Partnership we would not have launched our Social Shop, so it’s always great to show and highlight the impact the funding is having a year on 🍌

Jake, spent time chatting to our volunteers to understand the role they play and the support they offer, week in and week out. And then he spent time with our members to really understand the impact of being able to access free and affordable food in a safe and welcoming space.

There is nothing better than when a funder wants to visit you to see first hand what’s happening, bringing the projects to life, rather than just reporting on data via an online report.
