Dear Wine Cellar customers and suppliers;
Following my announcement here on Monday 4th November it now seems clear that Wine Cellar Norwich Limited will not be able to continue trading after my negotiation attempts with my Landlord and the Leeds building society have left me with no compensation or support whatsoever to cover sales losses since the Leeds Building Societyโs scaffold forest arrived outside my front door 18 months ago.
I have directed the Wine Cellar business now for 15 years but after steering through Covid and managing to cope for a while with higher costs for raw materials, wages and utilities, the Leeds scaffolding has been the silent assassin that has finally killed my business.
A business owner commented recently on Facebook to please keep using local businessโ when they raise prices to cover their cost increases - I plead with you to support that view as I had no option but raise prices when faced with a 51% monthly overhead increase that included electricity at 70% !!
I hope many of you that booked restaurant reservations for November and through the Christmas period with Wine Cellar Norwich can understand that I am not able to access my office records and booking systems in order to inform you of this situation - so I hope this final message from me reaches you in time - and to let you know that I have enjoyed every day of building my business with all of you.
Goodbye and thank you
