And just like that… our final service is over.
As we close the doors for the final time at Mark Poynton at Caistor Hall, we want to take a moment to say one simple but heartfelt word:
Thank you.
Thank you to every guest who joined us, supported us, celebrated with us and allowed us to be part of your special occasions and memories.
From birthdays and anniversaries to quiet evenings and unforgettable celebrations, it has been an absolute privilege to welcome you through our doors.
Our restaurant has always been about more than just food. It has been about a shared passion for hospitality, incredible produce, talented people and creating something truly special together.
We are immensely proud of everything that has been achieved within these beautiful walls.
A huge thank you to our incredible kitchen team — Byron, Rocco, George and Maciek — for their creativity, dedication and passion for showcasing the very best local and seasonal ingredients.
Thank you to our Directors — Nick, Sian, Buzz and Mark — for creating and believing in the vision that brought this restaurant to life.
And, of course, thank you to our wonderful front-of-house team, led by Ashley, whose warmth, professionalism and dedication helped make every guest experience so special.
To our suppliers, local farmers, producers and everyone who has worked alongside us — thank you for your continued support and for helping us bring the very best of Norfolk and beyond to the table.
Most importantly, thank you to you.
Your loyalty, encouragement, kindness and support have meant more to us than we could ever put into words.
Although this chapter has now come to an end, we leave with incredible memories, lasting friendships and immense pride in everything we have achieved together.

Dear Loyal Guests
It is with a very heavy heart that we have made the difficult decision to close the doors of Mark Poynton at Caistor Hall. As many of you will have seen, Mark has recently resigned as a director of the company to concentrate his efforts on The Ancient Shepherds in Cambridge. Due to changes at Caistor Hall after much thought and consideration, we feel it would not be right to continue this journey without him. The restaurant was built around a shared vision, passion, and commitment to delivering something truly special, and we believe this chapter should end in the way it began-together. Our final day of service will be Saturday 22nd August. Over the remaining three weeks, we will do everything we can to accommodate as many guests as possible before we close our doors.
If you hold a gift voucher, we will be in contact with you to discuss the available options and do our very best to accommodate your booking before we close.
If you have a reservation to dine with us after 22nd August, our restaurant manager Ashley will be in touch with you personally to cancel your booking.
We are incredibly proud of everything we have achieved and deeply grateful to our wonderful team, our loyal guests, our suppliers, and everyone who has supported us throughout this journey.
Your encouragement, kindness, and belief in what we created have meant more than words can express.
To everyone who has dined with us, celebrated special occasions, and made lasting memories within our walls, thank you for being part of our story. It has been an absolute privilege to welcome you.
While this chapter is coming to an end, we look back with immense pride and gratitude for everything we have shared together.
