Sunday afternoons just got better. Roast dinners served at the pub by the ROOST team from 4th October onwards.

Think slow-cooked beef brisket, roasted pork loin, rotisserie chicken or butternut squash wellington, served with all the classic trimmings… roast potatoes, Yorkie pud, veggies, cauli cheese and doused in red w**e gravy. I’m suddenly very hungry 🤤.

Bar snacks will be back too… cheeky bowl of pigs in blankets with my pint? It would be rude not to 😅

Keep an eye out for menu posted in the next couple of weeks.

🍂 🌞 THIS WEEKEND at The Globe, Shotesham

FRIDAY 4th September 5-8pm - it’s the first Friday of the month which means only one thing… our Friday food truck is Dirty Fryer Boys with all the favourites as well as the last outing for ‘TIM’ - the burger stacked high with pastrami, emmental cheese and peppercorn sauce 🤌
🌧 If the weather takes a turn for the worse we now have covered seating outside with stunning views over Shotesham common, as well as tables in the pub.

SATURDAY 5th September 1-7pm - ‘ROOST’ rotisserie Saturday spinning as usual throughout the afternoon.
Introducing a ‘boneless box’ for all of you who would rather not pick around the bones. Same free-range, slow reared, local meat with optional sides of crispy fries, coleslaw, corn and sauces 🍗 🔥

SATURDAY 3pm - the Grand Marrow weigh-in!
For those green-fingered people who bought a marrow plant from us at the beginning of the summer… now is the time to harvest the fruits of your labour 😉 bring your marrows in on Saturday afternoon for the big weigh-in and see if you could be the winner of 1st prize £100 or 2nd £50 💪🏼

SATURDAY 4pm - 6pm - LIVE MUSIC 🎶 with Merchants Eve acoustic duo.
The first of our ‘September Sessions’. Come and enjoy a chilled afternoon in the garden listening to some talented musicians while you enjoy some good food and drink.
Merchant’s Eve are a folk-rooted duo, Nathan Lisgo & Bec Charlton, who perfectly blend acoustic warmth, rich harmonies and textured arrangements. They put their own spin on songs by artists including Damien Rice, Turin Brakes, Nirvana and Coldplay, alongside a selection of Merchant’s Eve originals.

🙌 Well what an absolutely FANTASTIC summer we have had here at The Globe…. THANK YOU to everyone who has visited and supported the pub. It really does mean so much to us and we are so grateful to all of you.

Our hope to transform the pub into a community hub seems to have actually happened and we are so proud to be a place where everyone feels welcome and comes to meet with neighbours, friends and family.

We’ve had so much local support and such a fantastic welcome to the Shotesham community, we couldn’t have hoped for more.

You might think we’ll be taking our foot off the gas now that summer is coming to an end but quite the opposite… we have so many great things planned for the remainder of 2026:

LIVE MUSIC 4-6pm

Spend an afternoon with The Journey Men, a powerhouse blues duo serving up soulful vocals, driving guitar and electrifying harmonica. Expect great songs, deep grooves and a journey through the blues, from laid-back and soulful to foot-stomping favourites.

Featuring renowned blues singer, guitarist and songwriter Dave Thomas, whose five-decade career includes international festivals, chart-topping albums and collaborations with major blues artists, alongside acclaimed harmonica player and recording artist Gareth Tucker, whose distinctive playing has been described as “world class”.

Great songs, great playing and an afternoon of seriously good blues.

FRIDAY 28th AUGUST - 5-8pm Friday food truck is Bella Ciao pizza. Wood fired, delicious and the perfect way to start the weekend.

SATURDAY 29th AUGUST - 1-7pm ROOST rotisserie chickens spinning all day for lunch, dinner or both 🙌

SUNDAY 30th AUGUST - a bit of Bank Holiday fun 🤩 face painting 12-4pm, ice cream van, Benissimo Pizza 12-8pm, and LIVE BLUES MUSIC with The Journeymen 4-6pm

FRIDAY 21st AUGUST - 5-8pm 🇬🇷 Get Me To The Greek serving a huge selection of freshly prepared dishes to take your tastebuds straight to the Mediterranean 😎 marinated chicken, lamb or halloumi with fries, salad and tzatziki. In a warm pitta, a bowl, box meal or even sharing platter 🙌

SATURDAY 22nd AUGUST - 1-7pm ROOST rotisserie are back spinning their free-range Gressingham chickens with perfectly seasoned skin, crispy chips, slaw and corn - best enjoyed in the garden with a glass of something cold 🍻 …time to soak up the late summer sun ☀️

Well there’s going to be sun, sun and more sun 😅 which means that a shady b**r garden must be the perfect place to spend the weekend 🍻

FRIDAY 14th AUGUST - 5-8pm our visiting Food Truck is none other than Zaks on the Road Norfolk bringing their trademark stacked burgers and loaded fries, best enjoyed with some seriously cold b**r. Vegetarian and gluten free option also available .. they have something for everyone.

SATURDAY 15th AUGUST - apologies but no ROOST rotisserie this Saturday ☹️ but they will be back spinning next weekend.

🚨 THE RETURN OF THE ROAST 🚨

Exciting news !! We are pleased to say that our Sunday roast service is resuming in October… and even more pleased to say that DJ from ROOST Rotisserie will be the chef behind all the action 🤌

DJ joined us at the beginning of this summer with his rotisserie chicken and it’s proved so popular that we couldn’t think of anyone better to join us to cook our roast dinners every Sunday afternoon through the autumn/ winter months. A chef with plenty of experience at local restaurants including The Wildebeest, Stoke Mill and Farmyard to name a few, DJ is currently working on our Sunday menus along with planning a kitchen re-fit for The Globe.

Think of the perfectly seasoned and succulent chicken, which is slow-reared and free range from Gressingham. Pork loin with crunchy crackling or beef brisket which just falls apart. Alongside all the traditional Sunday roast trimmings. When we have finalised menus we will post on here 👀

Fear not 🤪 all this doesn’t mean that the rotisserie on a Saturday will stop… he’s carrying that on too and we are planning on creating a lovely outdoor shelter with light and heating for when the colder weather approaches.

You can BOOK NOW from 4th October onwards 12-6pm so get your favourite people involved and let’s celebrate the return of slow Sundays with good company, good food and good drinks 🍺 🍷
