The man who inaugurated Kanya by cutting the ribbon is no longer with us.

It is with great sadness that we share the news with our loyal customers, friends, and staff who knew Clyde that we have lost our beloved Uncle Clyde. He had been unwell for quite some time and passed away today.

Many of you will remember Uncle Clyde for the significant role he played at Kanya. Since we took over the business in 2010, he dedicated countless hours to baking cakes and scones, contributing not only his skills but also his warmth and kindness to everything he did.

To me, he was much more than an uncle. He was like a father, supporting and guiding me throughout my life. He taught me the English language, literature, vocabulary, and pronunciation, and played a vital role in shaping who I am today. His patience, wisdom, and encouragement gave me confidence and helped me grow both personally and professionally. His unconditional love, care, and support meant the world to me.

Uncle Clyde touched the lives of so many people, and his kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by our family, our staff, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in peace, Uncle Clyde. Thank you for everything.

This temporary closure will allow us to focus on a number of important matters behind the scenes, ensuring that we continue to provide the quality, hospitality, and experience our guests have come to expect.

What a lovely day we've had today at Kanya! 🥰

We suppose when gardening isn't top of the agenda and the weather can't quite make up its mind, Kanya becomes the perfect place to catch up with friends and family over a nice cuppa or some delicious comfort food.

And doesn't this burger look absolutely stunning? 😍

This is our grilled halloumi burger, served on a flavoursome pretzel bun and packed with flavour.

We can confirm it tastes every bit as good as it looks!

CHICKEN YORKEE

Tender roasted chicken breast slices combined with sautéed mushrooms and onions, poured over a beautiful Yorkshire pudding. To add even more comfort, it's served with a side of chips.
