There’s something special about a Sunday spent in the village pub 🍽️

A proper roast, a drink in hand, good company around the table and nowhere else to be.

We’re incredibly lucky to now call home every Sunday. Whether you’re joining us for a full roast, a smaller portion, dessert or simply a pint in the garden, it’s become one of our favourite ways to spend the day.

The Wheatsheaf has everything a village pub should. Character, history, a beautiful garden, friendly faces, dogs snoozing under tables and the sound of families catching up over lunch.

Bank Holiday Sunday at The Wheatsheaf tomorrow ☀️🍽️

We’ll be serving our Sunday roasts from 1pm till 6pm at

*Please note we’ll be closed at The Lab tomorrow, Sunday 24th May*

With the sunshine out, it’s the perfect day to enjoy a cold drink at the bar, sit in the garden and still get your Sunday roast fix. If you’re feeling peckish we also offer small roasts and kids roasts alongside our standard roasts, duo, trio and quad options plus vegan, veggie and gluten free options.

There’ll also be a family friendly and dog friendly event from 12.30pm run by Pistols & Pumps, with a car show taking over the car park!

The car park will be full of an amazing variety of cars, so please park outside the pub and come in on foot where possible.

Just a reminder that Illuminated Kitchen is now at EVERY SUNDAY from 1pm till 6pm 🍽️

Expect our full Sunday roast menu with beef, lamb, pork, chicken, duo, trio and quad roast options, vegan mushroom wellington and squash pie, homemade desserts, sides, kids roasts and smaller portions. We also cater for gluten free options and allergies, just let us know when booking!

Set in a beautiful historic pub in the heart of Dallington village, The Wheatsheaf has a large private car park, lovely outdoor garden, split pub seating and a relaxed family friendly atmosphere. Dogs welcome too 🐶

A few little updates to our Sundays at The Lab 💚

We’ve refreshed and simplified the menu slightly to keep things focused on what people order and love most. You’ll still find our homemade lamb and chicken roasts, duo roast option, Vegan mushroom wellington, sides, smaller portions and kids roasts, alongside sticky toffee pudding with ice cream or custard and simple scoops of ice cream for dessert.

We’ll also now be serving from 1pm till 5.30pm each Sunday.

Same homemade roasts, same relaxed Sunday atmosphere, same comforting plates of food, just a slightly more focused menu!

WE’RE HIRING 💚

As we grow, we’re looking for reliable, hard working people to join the Illuminated Kitchen team. These roles are for services where you’ll be working as your own small team so confidence, good work ethic and past experience are essential!

Front of House
📍 The Lab
Last 2 Sundays of the month, approx 8 hour shifts

We need someone who is on it, organised and confident with customers. Personality is really important for this role.

You’ll be responsible for:
• Greeting customers and taking orders
• Managing tables and keeping service flowing
• Helping in the kitchen when needed (desserts, garnishing plates)
• Staying calm and organised during busy periods

Strong customer interaction and time management are key. Previous Front of House experience required.

Kitchen Cook (Service Cook)
📍 The Lab
Last 2 Sundays of the month, approx 9 hour shifts

This role is focused on finishing cooking and plating during service. Food is mostly prepped but you must be confident handling a busy shift and keeping plates moving.

You’ll need to:
• Cook and plate food during service
• Handle pressure during busy periods
• Keep the kitchen clean and organised
• Work independently and stay on top of timings

You must be confident running service without supervision. Previous kitchen experience required.

Pot Wash / Kitchen Assistant
📍 The Wheatsheaf
Opportunity for every Sunday, approx 5 hour shifts

• Washing dishes consistently throughout the shift
• Keeping the kitchen tidy and organised
• Supporting the team during busy periods

No experience needed but you must be hard working, reliable and happy to be washing up for the full shift. Ideal for someone looking for weekend work or their first role in hospitality.

Paid trial shifts offered
Start date May to June

Sundays at The Lab 💚

is where Illuminated Kitchen first began… it’s our home every Sunday 1-6.30pm

If you’ve never visited before, The Lab is a grassroots, community run venue in Northampton known for supporting live music, art and independent events. It’s a cosy, inclusive space with a lot of character and a proper community vibe, a great place for a chilled Sunday roast.

Join us every Sunday for freshly cooked roasts with great drinks from the bar and a friendly atmosphere. Keep an eye at out The Lab’s profile as there is sometimes acoustic music, poetry & more happening alongside our roasts

A little update from us…

After a lot of thought, we’ve made the decision to move on from our monthly Sundays at Waterside.

Thank you to everyone who supported us during our time there 💚 From our very first pop up in August to becoming a monthly Sunday favourite, it’s been such a great place to serve our roasts. Kim and the Waterside team have been amazing to work with and we’re really grateful for the opportunity!

We’re now starting something new at The Wheatsheaf and looking forward to what’s ahead. (Keep your eyes peeled)

And don’t worry… we’ll still be at The Lab, so you can still find us there too.

Thank you again to everyone who supported us at Waterside. It meant a lot to us and we hope to return there again for pop ups in the future ✨
