Walking the Great Wall for Men’s Minds Matter — In Memory of Joshua

In October 2027, I’ll be taking on a 50km trek along the remote, unrestored sections of the Great Wall of China. Over five days, I’ll hike through the Yan Mountains to the Gubeikou Gateway — a tough, self‑funded challenge I’m doing in memory of my son, Joshua, and to support Men’s Minds Matter, a charity dedicated to preventing male su***de and helping men in crisis.

Joshua was kind, funny, gentle, and so loved. Losing him shattered our world. Nothing can change that, but I can use my grief to help others. Men’s Minds Matter supports men who feel they have nowhere left to turn, and their work is desperately needed.

I’m aiming to raise £4,000, and every donation — no matter the amount — will make a difference. I have 15 months to train, and I’ll share updates as I go.

You can also support the fundraiser by visiting the Woodmeadow Tearoom, where old‑school cake, chocolate cake, and jam & coconut cake are being sold with all proceeds going directly to the charity.

My son suffered with bipolar for many years, his constant struggle took a strain and he decided to end his life in July 2022.This absolutely devastated his whole family and all his friends.
