A message from Rich...

After almost five amazing years, it’s time for a new chapter as today I arrive at my final day at Cafe 1850.

Creating Cafe 1850 has been one of the proudest achievements of my life. Together, we built something truly special — a welcoming space where friendships were formed, conversations flowed, and everyone knew they belonged.

I’ve been incredibly lucky to lead such a dedicated team. A special thank you to Roxanne for standing beside me from the very beginning and helping bring our shared vision to life.

To our incredible community — thank you for every visit, every conversation, and every moment of support. You made Cafe 1850 what it is. I will miss our chats dearly, more than you'll ever know.

I look forward to seeing you all on a future visit!

With the expected bad weather heading our way and in line with the Cathedral site, we will be closing at the earlier time of 2pm today to allow our staff team to get home safely.

Last orders from the kitchen will be taken at 1.30pm.

Subject to what weather materialises, we will make a decision on our opening for Friday 9 January and announce it on our socials.
