“Can you come to Edinburgh and serve 450 slices of your amazing pizza to our staff for Employee Appreciation Week?”

Absolutely. 🍕🚌

So we loaded up the Yellow Bus and headed north. Very north.

8 hours from Northamptonshire to Edinburgh, grabbed some food, got some sleep and then up the next morning ready to serve 450 huge New York-style slices to the team at Chase Bank.

Then another 8 hours back home.

It’s pretty mad where this old American school bus takes us sometimes.

From our little base in Northamptonshire to Edinburgh, all because Chase wanted to do something a bit different to say thank you to their staff for Employee Appreciation Week.

And we bloody love that.

Employee appreciation doesn’t have to mean a box of cupcakes in the break room.

Sometimes a 12-metre American school bus rolls up outside your office and starts slinging New York pizza. 🇺🇸🍕🚌

This one meant a bit more to us today 🚌💛

We were back at J&J Global Fulfilment , who were actually the first company to ever book us for a corporate event a good few years ago.

Back then corporate catering wasn’t really something we did. We were mainly festivals and events, but they gave us a go and it ended up opening up a whole new side of the business for us.

Now corporate events are a massive part of what we do, so it was genuinely really nice to be back where that side of Yellow Bus pretty much started.

It’s easy to forget some of the early bookings as the business grows, but we definitely haven’t forgotten this one.

Thanks to everyone at James and James for having us back. It genuinely means a lot. 🚌🇺🇸

The job market is a strange place at the minute…

I constantly see posts from people saying “there are no jobs”, “nobody is hiring” and “I’ve applied everywhere”

At the same time, we are advertising a few roles and the response has been… surprisingly quiet 😂

So, if the algorithms could kindly put this in front of the people actually looking for work, that would be lovely.

🚌 OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR / MANAGER

Initially a 3-month self-employed role covering our very busy festive period.

£2,200–£3,000+ per month depending on experience and performance.

If it works well for both of us, we would be looking to extend the role beyond the initial three months.

You’ll need to be 25+, have a full driving licence and be confident driving vans. You’ll be helping run events, teams and day-to-day operations, with a lot of our upcoming work in London.

🍕 EVENT CATERING STAFF

Primarily working with us at Drumsheds and Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, plus other events along the way.

For our Drumsheds shows, we pay a £150–£200 show rate, depending on experience and responsibility. A typical show shift is around 8 hours.

We’re particularly interested in people based in Northampton / Northamptonshire.

For Northampton-based staff, transport to events is provided, and where we're away for multiple days, accommodation is provided too

You don’t need to be a Michelin-star chef. You do need to turn up, work hard, be comfortable in a seriously busy service, have some common sense and be someone we can rely on.

There’s a LOT happening between now and January, with the potential for more work afterwards for the right people.

🍕 WE’RE HIRING! 🚌

We’ve got a ridiculously busy few months ahead at Yellow Bus Catering, and we’re looking for some great people to join us.

🚐 OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR / EVENT MANAGER (Freelance)

A 3-month role helping us run our busy autumn & Christmas period.

You’ll help run events, manage teams, get our catering units where they need to be and make sure everything runs smoothly.

You’ll need to be 25+, have a full UK driving licence and be confident driving vans. Catering, events, hospitality or management experience would be ideal.

💰 £2,200–£3,000 per month, depending on experience and performance.

🍕 EVENT CATERING STAFF

We’re looking for people to join our teams serving pizza, burgers, hot dogs and more.

Experience is useful but not essential. We care more about finding people who are reliable, friendly, confident with customers and willing to get stuck in.

You’ll need to be 18+ and happy working in a genuinely fast-paced environment.

📍 WHERE ARE WE WORKING?

🎵 Drumsheds, London – predominantly Saturdays, with some Fridays, through to December
🎄 Hyde Park Winter Wonderland – 19th November - 3rd January
🏢 Corporate, Christmas & private events across the UK

You absolutely don’t need to be available for everything.

A lot of our work is in London, with travel from Northamptonshire. Accommodation is provided where required for some of our longer Christmas work.

And yes, you’ll be fed while you’re working. Obviously. 😂

The days can be long and when we’re busy, we’re BUSY – but you’ll work at some brilliant venues and events with a small team where everyone gets stuck in.

He’s got the uniform. He’s got the attitude. Unfortunately, he can’t drive the vans and eats far too much of the stock. 🐶

So… we’re hiring an Freelance Events Supervisor.

We’re looking for someone to join Yellow Bus Catering for an initial 3-month contract, helping us through our very busy festive season.

We’ve got a LOT going on over the next few months, and we need someone we can trust to take charge of events, supervise the team and keep everything running smoothly.

This is a proper hands-on role — driving our vans, setting up, running events, generating extra work, working alongside the team and generally making sure everything gets done.

💰 £2,200–£3,000+ per month depending on experience, level of responsibility and hitting agreed targets
📅 Initial 3-month self-employed contract
📍 Northamptonshire based with regular travel, predominantly London
🚐 Company vehicles provided for work travel
🏨 Accommodation covered when required

You’ll need to be 25+, have a full UK driving licence and be confident driving vans — including into London.

Hospitality, catering, festival or events experience would be ideal, but more importantly we want someone who is reliable, organised, good with people and happy to get stuck in.

There could also be more work available afterwards if it works well for both sides as we head towards the 2027 season.

Want to spend Christmas working at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland?

Yellow Bus Catering is recruiting for our team for the 2026 Winter Wonderland season.

📅 19th November – 3rd January (Build & Break a few days before and after too)
📍 Hyde Park, London
🔞 18+ only

We’ll be serving our NYC-style pizza throughout the event — and we're looking for people who are confident, outgoing and good with the public.

This isn't a quiet catering gig. During peak periods we're talking non-stop service, big queues and a seriously fast pace. We need people who can keep their head, talk to customers, work as part of a team and keep moving when it gets properly busy.

You don't need years of catering experience — personality, reliability and being able to handle the pace matter much more to us.

🏠 Accommodation costs covered if you're not local to London — if you are local, you get the luxury of going home to your own bed!

🍕 Food provided while you're on shift.

💰 There's also a £200 Christmas/New Year availability bonus for anyone able to work *all* of our specific key dates over the festive period.

There are plenty of shifts available throughout the season, so you don't necessarily need to be available for the entire event.

State Fayre 2026 🍕🚌

If you've never seen us before... yes, that's an actual American school bus from New York State. We imported it, converted it ourselves, and now it spends its weekends serving up proper New York City pizza by the slice.

No tiny slices here either... these things are huge. Fresh dough which we make ourself with North American Flour, cooked on a stone base, just how it should be.

We love bringing something a bit different to festivals, shows, corporate events and private hires, and State Fayre was another brilliant weekend.
