Dear Wonderful Workbridge Wheels Motorcycle Meets Community. We have very very sad news.

Many of your will remember the brilliant amazing warm friendly beautiful Stuart Whitney who supported our meets in the early days of WWMM. Stuart regularly manned the BBQ after a full day teaching wood turning in the studio that was a part of Workbridge.

As our meetings gathered pace and progressed Stuart was often to be found in the studio doing what he loved. He worked throughout the hospital supporting patients, teaching them new skills.

Well, sadly Stuart passed away peacefully yesterday in Cynthia Spencer Hospice after a long illness.

We send our unconditional love and support to his wife Teresa, family, friends and grandchildren ❤️❤️❤️

Life is short people. Live, love, laugh to the full, every single day.

God Speed Stuart. You are loved ❤️❤️❤️

Dear WWMM Community!

Sorry it’s been a little quiet on here but ….

Please do support the monthly bike meet at Motorcycle World in Northampton! As many of you know it’s run by past brilliant WWMM customer Lynis Bradshaw. Even better, Damo - he of our past amazing BBQs, works in the cafe and will be supporting this evening.

So, it would be great for many of you to attend if possible.

Dear wonderful Workbridge Wheels Motorcycle Meets community. Our brilliant community member Ingy Porter has visited a number of local hostelries and possible venues and is proposing The Galleon Pub at Old Wolverton. The pub comes highly recommended and the new landlady is very keen and happy to host the continuation of our meetings.

Thank you to EVERYONE who made it to our Christmas Workbridge Wheels Motorcycle Meets evening last night, the last at the wonderful Workbridge location. We hope you enjoyed the brilliant Christmas dinner overseen by our head chef, Kevin.

As many of you know, Workbridge closes on the 23rd December, which is very sad for us all and the broader community that is has served for decades. We will continue to seek a new venue and will maintain this page to update you all as and when we are ready.

We have created an amazing Community, forged some life long friendships, and we provided a great place to talk about many topics including mental health and wellbeing. It has been a privilege.

So, thank you all so very much for your INCREDIBLE support since we started at Workbridge on the 9th May 2023. Sincere thanks also to the amazing WWMM crew, most of whom were volunteers, that supported our meetings.

Dear AMAZING Workbridge Wheels Motorcycle Meets Community! Please please please join us for our last Hurrah! at Workbridge Cafe, The Old Laundry, Bedford Road, Northampton, NN4 7AD. What 3 Words is nearly.cloak.shows on TUESDAY 16th December from 4pm.

Alas, this is the last meeting at our current location and will include an ample Christmas menu 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄.

We are working on a NEW venue and updates will be issued in due course.

We really want to make this evening a truly memorable event so please do make a special effort to join us come rain or shine. It will be a great opportunity to thank the truly brilliant WWMM Squad who have worked so hard since we started on the 9th May 2023, and to share memories garnered at this unique location.

So, enough already. We really look forward to seeing you. Let’s make it really special.

Dear Wonderful Workbridge Wheels Motorcycle Meets Community. We are hosting our meeting tomorrow Tuesday 18th November at Workbridge, The Old Laundry, Bedford Road, Northampton, NN4 7AD. We start at 4pm. What 3 Words is nearly.cloak.shows

This is one of three final meeting ls before the sad closure of the Workbridge facilities on the 23rd December. We have been touched by the amount of support and we have not yet ruled out seeking an alternate venue. The plan is to canvass members as to ideas.

So, tomorrow is Mexican Themed Night so please show your amazing support by joining us for loaded nachos and chilli laden jackets! It’s rude not to!

Please please do make an effort to come down. Let’s make the most of these last few meetings …. Our final meeting on the 16th December will be a Christmas dinner! 🎄🎅🏻🌲

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Dear wonderful amazing Workbridge Wheels Motorcycle Meets Community. We have a very very sad statement to share with you from St Andrews Healthcare which means our meetings are coming to an end:

‘Unfortunately, St Andrew’s Healthcare has taken the difficult decision to close Workbridge. This includes the café, garden centre, charity shop, creative studios, retail cabins, and all education-related services. The health food shop, Daily Bread, will continue to lease the building from St Andrew’s.

Workbridge was created to offer vocational opportunities and training for people with mental health needs. Over the years, staff and volunteers have done an outstanding job and made a real difference to people in the community and to patients.

Sadly, Workbridge is no longer financially sustainable. Despite many efforts to make it viable, we have concluded that its closure is the only option, allowing St Andrew’s to focus its resources on hospital care. St Andrew’s Northampton patients will have access to vocational support and training through the hospital’s on-site workshops, cafés, music & arts facilities, and gardens.

Workbridge Retail will remain open until 23 December and Workbridge Education will continue until existing contracts are fulfilled.

There are no immediate plans for the site and it will remain permanently closed under St Andrew’s management.’

We at WWMM are all incredibly sad, and details of our fortnightly meets (the next one is Tuesday 18th November) up to permanent closure on the 23rd December will follow. For clarity, our next meeting is 18th November.

We are all IMMENSELY GRATEFUL for your support since we commenced our meets on the 9th May 2023.
