👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 NEW – Family Zone

For this massive semi-final, we’re introducing a dedicated Family Zone in our Top Bar.

This area has been created specifically for parents and children who’d like to enjoy the match together in a more relaxed setting, away from the main party atmosphere.

Here’s how it’ll work:

👨‍👩‍👧 Children must remain in the Family Zone with their parent or responsible adult throughout the match.

🍔 The Family Zone has its own bar and food service, so there’s no need to head into the main bar.

🎟️ Spaces are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

👋 Once the Family Zone reaches its safe capacity, we’ll be unable to admit any more families.

The rest of the pub and garden will remain an 18+ event. Under 18s are welcome only within the designated Family Zone and must stay there with their parent or guardian throughout the match.

Well… here we are! One game away from a World Cup Final! 😳

If there was ever a night to get yourselves to The Squirrels, this is it! 🇬🇧🍻

Here’s how Wednesday is looking…

🎨 Face Painting from 4.30pm with the brilliant Brushed Beauties Face Paint co. Beth is back! Bring your face all ready before the match, get those England flags painted and get everyone in the football spirit before heading home if you’re watching there.

🎧 DJ Archie from 5pm to get the atmosphere building right through to kick-off.

🎟️ Wristband Information

To make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening, we’ll once again be using our wristband system.

👋 The Boss will be on the door from 5pm personally issuing wristbands.

✅ If you’re staying to watch the match, you’ll need a wristband.
✅ We’ll just need to see your ID before your wristband is authorised.
✅ Once you’ve got your wristband, you’re free to come and go throughout the evening.

🚫 From 7pm, no wristband means no entry.

When all wristbands have been issued, we’ve reached our safe licensed capacity. At that point, unfortunately it really is one out, none in—we won’t be able to admit anyone else, no matter how much we’d like to.

We’re not trying to be awkward; we’re making sure everyone already with us has a fantastic, safe night and that we stay within our licence conditions.

So our advice is simple…

🍺 Come early.
🎨 Get your face painted.
🎧 Enjoy the DJ.
🎟️ Grab your wristband.
🦁 Roar England into the World Cup Final with us!

❤️🤍 What. A. Night. 🤍❤️

Firstly… can we just take a moment for Team Squirrels. 💚🐿️

To every single member of our team who worked their socks off last night… thank you. From pouring pints, keeping everything running smoothly, checking wristbands, clearing tables and somehow still finding time to smile… you were absolutely brilliant. We’re incredibly proud of you all. 💪🍻

A huge thank you also goes to Duston village bakery for providing the much needed post-match cakes. 🍰 Exactly what the team needed after a busy night.

And a massive shout-out to our lovely Beth from Brushed Beauties Face Paint co.❤️ For three solid hours she transformed faces with England flags, lions and plenty of patriotic pride. Thank you for bringing so much fun to the evening and helping everyone get into the match-day spirit. You were amazing! 🎨🦁🤍

But the biggest thank you goes to you… our amazing guests.

You embraced the wristband system, understood why it was there, arrived in great spirits, looked after each other and helped create one of those nights that reminds us exactly why we love what we do.

There was singing, cheering, laughter, plenty of football chat (and the odd debate with the referee through the screen! 😂), but above all there was respect. Respect for each other, for our team and for the venue.

That’s what makes The Squirrels special.

Last night’s atmosphere wasn’t created by us… it was created by every single one of you who came through the door.

So from all of us…

Thank you for trusting the system. Thank you for supporting your local. Thank you for making it a night to remember. ❤️

England take on Norway tonight with a 10pm kick-off, and we’re ready for another huge night at The Squirrels!

🎨 Beth from Brushed Beauties Face Paint co. will be joining us from 6pm to help everyone get into the England spirit. 🇬🇧

🎟️ A quick reminder about tonight’s wristbands…

From 6pm, the boss will be on the door personally handing out wristbands.

✅ Arrive early.
✅ Bring valid photo ID.
✅ Make sure you’ve seen the boss to have your wristband authorised and secured.
✅ Enjoy the music.
✅ Roar England into the semi-finals!

Our wristbands are there to keep everyone safe and ensure we remain within our licensed capacity. Once all wristbands have been issued, we’re full and unfortunately we won’t be able to admit anyone else.

If you’re already in the pub but haven’t collected your wristband, don’t leave it until the last minute. Once we reach capacity, priority has to be given to guests who already have one.

🔞 This is an over-18s event. Everyone attending will need valid photo ID to receive a wristband – no exceptions.

Come early, get yourself sorted, enjoy the build-up, and let’s make tonight another one to remember!

A few reminders because we want everyone to have the best (and safest) night possible.

🎟️ Wristbands will be issued from 6pm.

I’ll be on the door personally putting every wristband onto each guest’s wrist. Sorry… no collecting five for your mates while they’re “just parking the car!” 😂

Everyone entering will be accounted for.

Once every wristband has been issued and we’ve reached our safe licensed capacity… that’s it. No exceptions, no squeezing one more in, no “it’s only me.”

We know some people have had a giggle about our rules online… and that’s absolutely fine. We’d rather be laughed at for taking safety seriously than be remembered for getting it wrong.

Our priority has always been the same:

Saturday night is shaping up to be a cracker!

🎨 From 6pm, our friend Beth from Brushed Beauties Face Paint co. will be with us offering free England face painting for a couple of hours! 🇬🇧

If you’re watching the match at home later with the kids, why not bring them down beforehand to get their little England flags painted? It’s the perfect excuse to pop in, get match-ready and send them home looking like tiny patriotic warriors! 😂❤️🤍

🎧 DJ from 7pm to get the party started.
🍻 Great atmosphere.
📺 Then it’s England v Norway with a 10pm kick-off as we cheer the boys into the next round! 🤞

To keep everything running smoothly, we’ll be using our match wristbands.

🎟️ Here’s how it works:
✅ Arrive early.
✅ Grab your wristband.
✅ We’ll just need to see your ID so we can authorise your wristband.
✅ Enjoy the DJ.
✅ Cheer on England!

Once all wristbands have been issued, we’ll be at capacity, so no wristband means we won’t be able to admit you for the match. If you’re already in the pub but don’t have a wristband, we’ll need the space for wristband holders once we reach capacity.

🌿🎶 Sunday Sessions are calling… 🎶🌿

If your perfect Sunday sounds like a cold drink, good company and live music without having to shout over it, then we’ve got just the thing.

This afternoon we’re joined by the lovely Ashby Clark, bringing his easy-listening acoustic set to the garden from 5pm–7pm. Think laid-back tunes, chilled vibes and the perfect soundtrack to round off the weekend.

Our Sunday Sessions are all about slowing the pace, soaking up the atmosphere and easing into the evening. Whether you’re heading home afterwards or making a day of it, it’s the perfect way to spend a summer Sunday.
