After and before in Farrow & Ball Wimborne White
This has been the biggest, hardest and most satisfying kitchen I've painted in the ten years I've been transforming kitchens!
Looking at the original photos, I couldn't see just how poor the previous paint job was. Once we started we discovered paint full of lumps, huge drips, doors only painted on the fronts, paint on the glass, paint on the floor and even paint all over the hinges. 😪
To make things even more challenging, my client had chosen Wimborne White, one of Farrow & Ball's thinnest colours, which takes extra care, patience and lots and lots of coats to achieve a flawless finish. Six litres of paint was used !
James worked five of the seven days it took to complete this one and what a challenge it was! Watching it slowly come together and seeing the transformation was incredibly rewarding. Every bit of hard work was worth it to achieve exactly the look my client wanted.
We were also lucky enough to be working for the loveliest, most patient family. And of course, there was Jasper! 🐾 Every day I took him treats and despite having usually just finished his breakfast, he was always ready for more. Typical Lab!
There's still one final job to be done this week. The joiner is coming back to drill new holes for the replacement handles and swap the old painted hinges for beautiful new brass ones. That's why you cansee my white paint on the existing hinges , it felt wrong getting paint on them even though they were already covered before we started!
I can't wait to see the finished touches in place. What a transformation! ❤️
