Delicious fresh Gelato in North Tyneside. A good range of drinks to enjoy in our unique place on the terrace or inside, at The Fish Quay in North Shields. Food that is tasty and locally gathered flavours – and include some we have grown here in our glass house. And we will create glass art that we aim to be extra-ordinary.

Kaffir Lime growing in the glass house at Molten today, leaves being gently infused into soft dairy to capture some early spring essence. From this week, we are open now Wednesday to Sunday, 9 to 4pm.

Hello All, As you can see we have been working on new experimental gelato here in Molten.... We are opening again this Thursday - 5th February - with our winter hours of Thursday to Sunday, 9 to 4pm. You will be very welcome to watch the seas and windswept water, cosy with a hot beverage and something flavourful.

We’re open both Cafe and Gallery, 1st to the 4th, 10am to 4pm, then taking a short creative break in January - time to develop new glass work, new flavours, and fresh offers for 2026.
Thank you for all the support over these 9 months — we’ll be back early in February with more to share.

We are opening again - from Tomorrow - Saturday 20th. Back to usual opening times of 8am to 4pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
And as part of Heritage Open Days, the Gallery is also opening, from 4pm on Saturday, on the first floor with a show about how we made the building - which will run for at least 6 weeks. Go to the HOD website for more information.

Hello. The Cafe is closed for a little over 2 weeks as we prepare to Open the Gallery on the First Floor. Both Gallery and Cafe will open on Saturday the 20th September. We are staying open into the early evening - 4pm to 7pm when Henry will be available for Q&A - All most welcome. The first show in the Molten Gallery, by popular request, is to describe how the building was designed and built, and how the use of glass in Henry's architecture has developed: All part of Heritage Open Days. There are also some talks on Sunday 21st September about the story of the building through process, glass and food: You can book limited spaces at the talks on Heritage Open Days website - https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/submission-event/edible-architecture-molten-ideas-in-a-scheduled-monument.html There will be a wait list as we will have further dates for the talks if there is the interest. The show will be on for 2 months.

We are open at 8am in the mornings for that set me up for the day - or you would be welcome to chill out and take it all in. Either way - you can be inside or out on the terrace.
