This will be the last ever Roadhouse Blues post, before I close on Saturday, and shut down this page
🙏I just want to say a huge thanks to Royal British Legion Scotland - Newton Stewart Branch, for turning up in numbers today at the restaurant to wish me all the best for my future. I was genuinely emotional that you thought about me, and I am truly thankful for all your wishes of happiness for my future.
Your sincerity was obvious, which is why you all shine brightly and have my utmost respect always.🇬🇧
For those who have purchased memorabilia, Nicola will be at the restaurant on Sunday afternoon for you to collect your items. From myself and Eddie McGaw , we thank you all as the money raised will really help out at the orphanage 🇰🇪
I hope those who are booked in over the next few days, enjoy your Roadhouse Blues experience, and I send you all thanks in advance.

Just a wee post to say that any memorabilia you want to buy from the restaurant, can be reserved and collected only after our last day. It's only fair to customers coming next week that the restaurant looks as is. Thanks

‼️IMPORTANT NOTICE ‼️

It is with mixed emotions, and after careful consideration, I have decided to close the restaurant permanently. The last day of business will be Saturday 27th September.

With on going health issues which have been deteriorating over the last few months, I need think of myself first for a change, and prioritize my health. To maintain the standards and popularity of the restaurant, would take more than I am able to give.

In achieving the success of the restaurant over the last 2 1/2 years, wasn't easy and came at too high a cost in many ways. I am in no doubt whatsoever, that this is the right thing to do

Furthermore, the hospitality sector is incredibly more difficult to maintain a profitable level. With the massive food costs, utilities, etc that we all are dealing with, the rewards do not reflect the effort needed to run a successful restaurant

I'd like to thank all my staff for their efforts and dedication. In particular I'd like to thank and highlight the effort of Scott and Nicola. These two have been the backbone of the business for roughly 2 years. In all honesty, I wouldn't have gotten this far without them

Finally, a huge thanks to everyone who has joined us at Roadhouse Blues since we opened. I have made many new friends over the years, and as I move away from the area to pastures new, to start the next chapter in my life, I hope to maintain contact with you all

As a business owner, it's sometimes hard to remember, and easy to forget and do what really matters in life.

So when I visited my friends Andy, Sarah , and Lauren at Grobdale of Girthon farm today, it felt amazing to get back to nature and appreciate the simple things in life

Snuggles from Dolly the lamb, cuddles from Jim the sheepdog, nearly getting bitten by mummy pig as I got too close to her baby piglets, spending time with the horses and watching the farrier trim their hooves, cup of tea and a chat......a beautiful morning was had in the company of beautiful people in a truly beautiful location 🐑

There's more to life than just work. And it's something I need to remind myself of more often 🌺♥️
