Hi, we’re Sam & Susie,
For those of you who are new here — we’re the people behind kore.
Many of you might already know us through Luna & Finch,
our private dining and catering business.
kore is something we’ve been quietly building alongside that —
a small, chef-led space here in Ashburton.
We host chef’s table evenings, seasonal events, and relaxed, sharing-style feasts.
Most of our events are ticketed and released in advance —
keeping things intimate, considered, and a little special.
Alongside this, we also host private dining, small celebrations, and gatherings in the space.
We also plan to introduce occasional takeaways and pop-ups, allowing the space to evolve naturally with the seasons
and the people who come through the door
Sam is a Michelin-trained chef (with 19 years of experience in kitchens!) and everything we do focuses on refined, ingredient-led cooking and carefully considered dining experiences.
We wanted to create something that feels more relaxed and experience-led than a traditional restaurant —
a space where people can come together, slow down,
and enjoy really good food.
It’s been a bit of a labour of love for us,
and we’re really excited to see where it goes 🤍
