As many of you know, Cat and I have closed the Deli. I have kept a few lines going, fine chutneys, some jams and some gluten free produce. The rest of the dry store produce has been taken on by Ashford's Fruit and veg (close to the cafe).

Unfortunately we have not got the space for the cheese, but we are considering supplying some of the fine cheddar that we buy in to the public.

We have been quietly investing in new equipment to provide more treats for the Menu. This week we have added toasties. We are, of course maintaining our ethic that everyone should be able to afford to enjoy the cafe so prices start at a very affordable £2.50, despite the wonderful quality of our produce. 90% of which is sourced in our market. Come and join us for locally sourced food of the finest quality for prices so fair that everyone can enjoy them

Watch out for the University of the 3rd Age at the cafe. They are due to start their marketing soon and will have a heap of interesting courses to keep our grey matter ticking. Please keep an eye out for further detail.

I am so very proud of all of my staff for their patience and kindness in waiting for us to reopen. i am glad to welcome them back and also to welcome our lovely customers to sit outside and enjoy all the usual fare. I am led to believe (by the BBC weather) that Monday, when we are opening the outside seating area, will be fine and sunny.

Amelie and I are proud to offer our homemade carrot and coriander soup. The lockdown reduces our hours from 8:30 until 2Pm Monday until Saturday. Again, our full menu is available for take-away only, but beware our soup sells out quickly.

Here we are again!!

The Cafe will be open during the latest lockdown for all our Menu on a takeaway basis. One exception! Soup will come with a roll.... Takeaway toast does not really work well.

Lastly, I will be late in today, probably half eight, because I must get in to supply a largish number of takeaway cups and bags.

Amalie and I will be providing all the usual food and hot drinks as take-away items for the period of the lockdown.

Finally I will have a chance to get up to date with the book keeping!

As the background risk increases I am increasing measures aimed at providing food service safely.
As you may have noticed of late I have insisted that staff wear PPE at all times of greater than zero COVID risk.
As you will have noticed we are also ensuring that those coming to the counter are masked. A loose fitting scarf round the face is not considered compliance and will be politely rebuffed. the next major implementation is a sneeze screen to protect both foodstuff and personnel. At the moment we are considering a non contact thermometer to screen symtomatic people from our cafe.
