To our wonderful community;
A long-standing loyal customer of ours, Paul and wife Kate & family shared some terrible news with us a few months ago and together we wanted to do what we can to help the family through such a difficult time. Paul and his family have been coming to lemon Jelli weekly since we opened.
But Sadly, 3 months ago, Paul was diagnosed with bowel cancer and had to have an emergency life saving operation. After the operation further scans and tests were undertaken which have sadly shown that the cancer has spread to several other areas and it is now life limiting. He started palliative chemotherapy as of Tuesday 4th of September, but the chemotherapy is to attempt to control the cancer - as it is now heartbreakingly, un-curable.
His family are so proud of how he has coped with the recovery from such a massive operation and devastating diagnosis.
His goal whilst recovering from the bowel operation was to get back to eating his weekly ham and pineapple pizza with skinny fries from Lemon Jelli.. he talked about it in hospital when all he could manage was soup & ice cream - he achieved this goal 5 weeks post operation!!
Paul is currently off work of which he would usually work within the medical records department at torbay hospital working nights.
The money raised will be used to fix an immediate issue which is to replace the boiler as its been on the blink for a while and with winter approaching needs to be replaced to ensure Paul is warm during his chemotherapy recovery and ensure he’s as comfortable as possible whilst at home. The family had plans to have this done before the diagnosis and have had to use those savings to pay for essentials whilst Paul is out of work.
Any money raised over the boiler replacement will be used for the family to be able to spend some time together, on a short stay vacation, to make precious memories and ensuring Paul is comfortable while doing so.
We understand financially times are hard for everyone currently, but if you can spare anything, it’ll be greatly received and hugely appreciated by the family.
