Nestling below the majestic Haytor Rocks, The Rock Inn has been offering travellers a warm welcome, good food and shelter since its foundations as a coaching inn in the mid-eighteenth century. As a family-owned traditional country inn, we at the Rock Inn pride ourselves on providing a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and service with a personal touch to ensure a fulfilling a memorable experience to both diners and hotel guests alike. The Inn has long been renowned for the standard if its food, holding one AA rosette for the last 20 years and recently being awarded 2 Rosettes for culinary excellence. We are fortunate that Devon’s rich supply of top-quality produce is right on our doorstep (including the South-West’s wonderful choice of cheese, and wine from local vineyards). Delivered daily to our chefs, food is skilfully prepared with emphasis placed on freshness, taste and seasonality. Nine very comfortable and well-appointed guests bedrooms await the weary traveller, each with bath or shower room en-suite, colour TV, direct-dial telephone, free wifi and beverage tray. Some are equipped with an interesting historical curio ‘mini bar’. All bedrooms are named after past Grand National winners – a tradition started in 1920.
