I just wanted to say that I’m sure you have noticed recently that the menu in the cafe has been reduced. I just wanted to explain to you why.
As most of you know, the cost of everything is going up…. At a crazy rate. This affects us buying in ingredients for our menu items. Just to put it into context, the butter that we have been buying for a long time has recently risen from £2.10 to a whopping £4. That’s just one example, obviously everything else has risen drastically too. Therefore I have reduced our menu items so that we don’t have as much wastage or as much of a loss at the end of the week.
As a lot of you are also aware, I (Jenna) have been incredibly unwell recently and have been trying to plod on as normal. This has been really challenging and hence why I’ve ended up having to have odd days off here and there. I need to take care of my health and the only way I can do this at the moment is to reduce my workload. We are not financially in a position where we can have any additional members of staff at the moment. This means I have to do whatever I can to reduce the amount I am doing. I will still be making lots of different cakes including GF, Dairy free and vegan options.
I am sorry that there are not as many options as usual but I cannot physically keep offering everything on the menu and keep my health stable.
