🌟 Creative Outlet Group (Ages 14+) 🌟

Do you enjoy writing, journaling, poetry, storytelling, or just want a calm, creative space to get things out of your head and onto the page?

Our Creative Writing Group is a relaxed, supportive space where you can explore ideas, try gentle writing activities, and connect with others your age in a youth led environment, with no pressure to share and no expectations to be “good” at writing.

You can come to write quietly, take part in games and prompts, build confidence, or simply enjoy having space to express yourself in your own way. Whether you love words or don’t know where to start, you are welcome.

No experience needed. Just come as you are.
Your voice matters, even if you’re still finding it. 💛

Calling all future food stars...

Our Junior Chef Academy is coming to The Arches SRC Newry this August offering a fun, hands-on cookery programme for young people aged 12–16.

📅 10th–14th August
🕤 9.30am–2.30pm
💷 £50 for the full week

Junior chefs will:
Learn essential cooking skills
Explore world cuisines
Build confidence in the kitchen
Learn nutrition & food safety
Work as part of a team

From homemade pizza to tacos and easy bakes, it’s a week packed with flavour and creativity.

Spaces are limited to 12 students.

Join us on Wednesday, from 3:30PM in Social Bytes🍰

Social Bytes is a relaxed youth space for young people who want somewhere comfortable to spend time, connect, or focus, without the extra pressure.

It’s a place to drop in, grab a complimentary hot snack and drink, use laptops, Wi-Fi, or the printer, and settle in however suits you. Some people come to study quietly on their own, others meet friends, work together, or just enjoy being around people without having to perform.

There’s no expectation to socialise, and no right way to be. You can talk, create, concentrate, or simply exist in a space that’s designed to feel safe, calm, and welcoming.

Social Bytes is about community at your own pace, a space where you don’t have to fit in to belong.
Please note this cafe is strictly for 13-18yr olds

An evening filled with live music, sweet treats and community spirit 🎶☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Summer Concert Fundraiser at Café Melrose. Every conversation, donation and show of support helps us continue providing vital mental health support for young people in our community.

Thank you to all of our talented performers, volunteers and supporters who made the evening so special. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support.

Reaching Out Project ✈️🌟

Our Reaching Out Project runs every Tuesday from 4.15–6.15pm at 41 River House, The Mall, Newry.

Designed for young people aged 11–13, these pre-booked cafe sessions create a supportive space to:
Build social confidence
Increase self-esteem
Learn healthy friendships & communication
Manage setbacks in a safe environment

The project includes a one hour supported interactive workshop, followed by a supported social health space where young people can relax chat and connect with others in the group
