It’s been sitting on the wall at Box & Barber for years, shaped locally by Oly Parker, and has quietly become one of the most photographed things in the café.

Thousands of coffees served underneath it. Probably thousands of photos taken of it too.

It just belongs there.

We’re looking for one all round team member to join us at Box & Barber by day and Parrilla by night in Newquay.

By day, you’ll be part of our busy, bustling café serving great coffee and brunch. By evening, you’ll help deliver an amazing experience in our steak restaurant.

The role:
• Waiter/Waitress / Front of House
• 30+ hours per week
• Immediate start

We’re looking for someone who’s friendly, reliable, hardworking, and enjoys working in a fast paced environment.

Most people see the food hit the table.

They don’t see the hours before the doors open. The prep. The pressure. The heat. The long days. The consistency it takes to deliver, day after day.

This is Tommy.

The longest-serving member of the Box & Barber family. Over 5 years with us, and in a business that’s been around for 12 years, that says everything.

People often associate Box & Barber with the two brothers behind it, but the truth is, this place is built by a team. Without people like Tommy, none of this happens.

Every burger, every brunch, every service. Blood, sweat, and a lot of pride go into that kitchen. Tommy has been at the heart of it through busy summers, quiet winters, countless services and thousands of plates.

Loyalty like that is rare.

We’re incredibly grateful to have him as part of the family, and we wanted to take a moment to give him the recognition he deserves.

Here’s to the people behind the scenes, the ones who don’t always get seen, but make it all possible.
