Making the most of September produce with a dish that nods to Elizabeth David’s Piedmontese peppers, an incredibly simple dish that puts produce at the fore.

These are GROWN by Newquay Orchard peppers and tomatoes which have been roasted and marinated, served on braised coco beans and topped with anchovies and basil. The dish is served cool which brings a fresh, vibrant and light eating experience that we love.

A selection of Paul’s, Paul Ledder, recent catches - po***ck, bass and mackerel. All caught on a single rod and line on his 4m boat out of Newquay harbour. It’s a real pleasure to be able to work with Paul, not only for the impeccable quality of his catch but also for his outstanding knowledge of fish and the ocean.

We saw a bumper delivery of broad beans from , which found their way on to our menu with ricotta that we make at the pub from the village cows at Sweets Dairy. The broadies are sadly all gone, but now we are on to some of those most delicious runner beans we’ve tasted to accompany the ricotta.

At last tomatoes return to Cornwall and with them the summer season of vegetables is truly underway. It’s such a glorious time to cook and eat, with the menu heavily reflecting the bounty that is upon us.

To celebrate this we are changing how we do Sundays. We are saying goodbye to wintery roasts and we will be offering our regular menu for the whole of Sunday, you can still eat family style with sharing grilled guinea fowl and whole roast fish, but in a way that reflects the season and what is good to eat.

We are also changing our kitchen hours to allow you more time on the beach before eating with us for dinner. They now match the same times for the rest of the week; 12-3pm for lunch and 5-8pm for dinner.

We look forward to seeing you soon and big love to our growers that make this time of year so bloody good. Conor & Rose .newquayorchard Newquay Orchard

The hospitality sector has come together to launch – a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, we’re working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as and , hospitality communities like , and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.

Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.

This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.

Like, sign the petition and share this post – we need your support to reach a million signatures.
