My names Sian, I started this Page when I was 17 years young
and worked part time with Alan and everyone at Vacara's. Alan also has access to this page so I have always kept it open.
Almost 20 years after I left the store I am sadden to see that Vacara's will unfortunately not pass onto another family member, but as they say all good things eventually come to an end.
I was working Part time as a Teaching Assistant and Met Alan's Wife in the school and she helped me gain a position there for some extra cash. As time went on I became full time, worked for around a year, full time then left when I was around 19. I actually loved my time in the store and wish Alan a very happy and well deserved retirement.
Working in the heart of Newport, I met many people, colleagues and customers, some who are still very much a part of my life today. So I would personally like to say a big thank you to Vacara's for taking on a pretty shy 17 year old version of myself, and absolutely helping to mould me into the confident, people person I am today!
