A Difficult Decision
It’s time to sharpen the knives and hang up my apron for the final time.
As we come into our 29th year of Burrs, I’ve had to make the very difficult decision to close our doors.
I’ve been wanting to retire for a while now, and due to a change in circumstance and family commitments, the time has finally come to call it a day.
I’d like to say a huge thank you to every single customer who has supported us throughout the years. Your loyalty, conversations, laughter and memories have meant more than you’ll ever know.
And, of course, a massive thank you to all the staff, past and present, who have helped make Burrs what it is.
A very special thank you to Franco, who since 2001 has always helped make Burrs feel so warm and welcoming.
To Jodie, thank you for 9 years of commitment and for bringing the desserts to life with your creative techniques and beautiful garnishes. I’m sure this won’t be the last we see of Jodie and her well-known desserts!
And to Jasmine, thank you for stepping up and really giving it your all. With your front of house team of Leigh, Katie and Taylor and to Louis our super fandango dishwaher technician it’s been amazing to see.
And last but not least a special thank you Becca my wife who has supported me whilst im never at home and always being our back up washer upper.
Over the years we have been a real family business with all of my children working here at some point.
The list of people who have helped make Burrs what it is could go on and on. It has always felt like one big family, and I genuinely couldn’t have done it without you all.
After 29 years, there are so many memories to look back on, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been part of so many people’s lives along the way.
It’s not an easy goodbye, but it’s the right time for me and my family. For me, it’s a very emotioal goodbye.
But dont be sad it’s over be glad it happened!
Our final opening date will be the Saturday 26th September.
