Wonderful pub/food wonderful staff. We have visited here a couple of times when on the Island and The Horse and Groom does not disappoint. Specials on the wall to choose from or off the menu, always different food on offer so you can't get bored. Staff are friendly and helpful, cannot ask for more.

There’s nothing quite like a proper Sunday roast, and we recommend booking early to avoid missing out! 🥰

Our Sunday roasts are available in two sizes:
🍽️ Smaller Appetite – £13.25
🍽️ Regular Size – £16.95

You’ll have a choice of at least two meats or a delicious Nut Roast, all served with:
🥔 Crispy roasted potatoes
🥕 Honey-roasted parsnips
🌿 Homemade stuffing
🥞 Homemade Yorkshire pudding
🥦 A selection of seasonal vegetables

And, of course, cauliflower cheese is available to add! 😍

There are some lovely walks around Ningwood, Shalfleet and Newtown, so why not grab the lead, bring your four-legged friend and head out to explore the beautiful countryside? 🌳🐕‍🦺

And when you’ve worked up an appetite, we’re waiting for you! 🍽️🍻

We also have water bowls and treats waiting in the bar for your dogs of all shapes and sizes. 🐶❤️

Just a little reminder: dogs must be kept on a lead both inside the pub and in our garden.

"We recently escaped to the island for a holiday, and ended up at the Horse and Groom twice — once wasn’t nearly enough.

The food was excellent both times, and my girlfriend declared it the best pie she’s ever had. That’s not a compliment I take lightly — she’s put in the research hours.

The staff are warm, friendly, and genuinely seem to like being there, which honestly should be the bare minimum in hospitality but somehow feels rare.

Highly recommend. Bring stretchy trousers."
