Spider-Man & Ghost Spider Wednesday 5th August at 11am has been POSTPONED due to the performers being unwell.

Instead we will have “RYN” for a K Pop Style Singalong at 11am 🤩 as well as a chance to have a photo with “Derpy” 🫶🏻

We are so sorry if we have disappointed anyone but I’ve spent the last couple of hours trying to find another performer but at this short notice I’ve been unsuccessful. Spider-Man & Ghost Spider will DEFINITELY be back, we are just sorting another date and will share as soon as I’m able.

I’d appreciate if you could share this news, tag any friends/family who was planning on coming.

💚 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫 💚

Over the past few weeks, we’ve had so many people asking whether we would be applying for the café tender at Tredegar Park (Newport). We can now confirm that we did.

Firstly, we’d like to thank everyone who wished us luck and believed in what we could bring to the project. The support has genuinely meant a lot to us.

Unfortunately, our application wasn’t successful. We finished 2nd out of 6 applicants. Whilst we’re naturally disappointed, we’re incredibly proud of the submission we put together. We received some excellent feedback on our proposal and the vision we presented.

We truly believe that our family-driven, community-centred approach would have been a huge asset to Tredegar Park for many years to come. Our vision was about far more than simply operating a café - it was about creating a welcoming community hub, delivering free family events, supporting local suppliers, creating local employment opportunities and giving visitors even more reasons to enjoy everything the park has to offer.

That said we didn’t agree with some of the aspects of the evaluation. We believe some areas of our submission were marked lower than the published criteria justified. We appreciate that appeals rarely change the final outcome, but we felt it was important to raise our concerns and ensure the process is properly reviewed.

We had over 10+ letters of support from councillors, suppliers, schools, charities and some customers - to be used as backing for the application, but fell on death ears.

Of course, disappointment doesn’t define us.

Our focus remains exactly where it has always been – delivering the very best experience possible for all our customers and visitors The Glade Cafe and The Hatch at Waunfawr Park . We have exciting plans for both cafés over the coming weeks, months and years, and we’ll continue investing in our businesses, our staff and the communities we serve.

Thank you to every customer who has supported us, visited us, recommended us and believed in what we do. We never take that support for granted.

This wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, but we’ll keep moving forward, keep growing and keep looking for the next opportunity to bring our ideas to life.

The best is yet to come. 💚
