☀️ Catering on a hot day at an outside venue can be challenging… and with summers becoming hotter and more frequent, food safety matters more than ever.
When arranging catering for a funeral, memorial gathering, or celebration of life, most people naturally focus on the menu and price - but there are a few equally important questions worth asking your caterer to ensure your guests are kept safe and comfortable throughout the day.
Here are some of the things we believe every family should ask:
❓ How will the food be transported?
✅ We use refrigerated vehicles to keep food at a constant safe temperature throughout delivery and setup.
❓ If the service runs over, how will cold food stay chilled?
✅ Our refrigerated vans can act as onsite cold storage when venues don’t have adequate refrigeration facilities available.
❓ Can your kitchen safely handle larger guest numbers?
✅ We have dedicated walk-in refrigeration facilities designed to safely store larger quantities of chilled food. Temperatures are checked and recorded daily in line with Environmental Health guidelines.
❓ Do you hold a current Food Hygiene Rating?
✅ Absolutely — we are proud to hold a 5⭐ Food Hygiene Rating and are always happy to share our certification.
❓ How do you protect food during outdoor service?
✅ We use covered serving stations, temperature-controlled storage, and carefully timed service to keep food fresh and safe throughout the event.
❓ Can you provide alternatives for guests during extreme heat?
✅ Yes - we can recommend lighter menus, chilled buffet options, fresh salads, cold desserts, and refreshing drinks that are ideal for warmer weather.
At difficult times, families should be able to focus on being together - not worrying about food safety.
Professional catering is about far more than good food. It’s about care, preparation, hygiene, and peace of mind. 💙
