STEFAN, STEFAN, STEFAN… what can I say?! ❤️

Today we say a very happy (but very emotional!) goodbye to our whizz of a chef, Stefan, after an incredible 4.5 years with his Victor Victoria family.

There have been busy services, new dishes, kitchen chaos, Lots of Greek music, body building competitions, plenty of laughs… and so many happy customers along the way. Watching you grow over this time mentally and physically has been a delight to watch 💪

Stefan, you will be so very missed by all of us. Thank you for everything you’ve brought to VV — your talent, your hard work, your humour and, of course, your seriously good food! ❤️

💕Team 💕 After a fun, busy summer, we headed to Newmarket Races for a much-deserved team afternoon and evening out and what a time we had! 🏇🥂

The sunshine, wonderful company, picnic, shared laughs, great racing and brilliant entertainment made it an afternoon we haven’t stopped talking about since ❤️

And a huge thank you to Scouting for Girls and Kaiser Chiefs for getting us up dancing and keeping the party going 💃🕺

Thank you too to our wonderful community, who appreciate and support what we do every day. It means more than you know. ❤️

And finally… THANK YOU to our amazing team for being simply THE BEST! 🥰

We will be closing both our Newmarket & Sawston cafes slightly earlier today so that we can all enjoy an afternoon horse racing Newmarket Racecourses. A little treat as a thank you to the team for all their hard work and dedication in making Victor Victoria what it is. It’s been a wonderful first half of the year and being able to celebrate with everyone feels wonderful.

⭐️ WE WON… Coffee Shop/Tearoom of the Year 2026⭐️

And I couldn’t be prouder!

To be named Coffee Shop/Tearoom of the Year for Suffolk & Cambridgeshire by the Velvet Food & Drink Awards feels surreal. It’s one of those moments you think about but are never quite sure will happen.

When Victor Victoria first began, it was never about winning awards. It was about creating somewhere people felt they belonged. A place where strangers became regulars, regulars became friends, and coffee was simply the beginning of so many conversations.

That dream has once again been recognised.

To everyone who nominated us… thank you. Every single nomination was someone saying, “This place matters to me.” And that is the greatest compliment we could ever receive. Thank you for believing in us, for supporting us, and for making Victor Victoria part of your lives 🥰

But this award… this belongs to my team. ❤️

To every single person in our Newmarket and Sawston cafés—you are the heartbeat of Victor Victoria. You show up every day with kindness, passion and genuine love for what you do. You care about every coffee, every cake, every brunch, every smile, every customer and every tiny detail that most people never even notice.

Watching you all pour your hearts into these cafés makes me unbelievably proud. As I write this, my eyes are filled with tears because I know how hard you’ve worked and how much you all care. You don’t just work here—you’ve helped build something truly special.

This award has your names written all over it and watching you all hold the award smiling, showed me what it meant to you too ⭐️

And finally, to our mystery shopper judge, .a.falvo … thank you. Your words weren’t just feedback—they were a reminder that people really do notice the love, care and dedication that goes into every single day. I’ll carry your words with me for a very long time.

Our Miss Olivia ✨

Today is one of those bittersweet days.

From the moment you walked through our door, you’ve brought so much more than hard work, you’ve brought your smile, your infections laughter, your kindness, and your beautiful way of making everyone feel welcome.

Watching you chase your dream has been such a privilege. All the studying, the exams, and now seeing you build makes me so incredibly proud. You’ve worked so hard for this, and you deserve every bit of success that comes your way.

I’ll miss you more than words can say. It will certainly be different without you in the cafe, but seeing you follow your passion makes saying goodbye a little easier.

Thank you for everything, Liv. It’s been a privilege to watch you grow ❤️ xx

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers, fathers-to-be, stepfathers, and the incredible father figures who choose to step up, guide, support, and love the younger generation. Today, we celebrate not only the fathers by title, but also the men who have become role models.

🤍 At VV, we are one big community, and everyone who passes through our doors is welcomed with a smile. Some people come and go, while others stay and become family. We become part of their daily routine, and we take great pride in making people feel welcome and getting to know them.

Our family grows every day, and customers become friends—not only with us, but with one another.

It’s moments like these that make it especially hard when we lose someone. It doesn’t just affect us; it affects the friendships that have been born over a coffee and croissant every morning for the last two years.

It is with a very heavy heart that I let everyone know of the sudden passing of Jeff.

Jeff was our regular-as-clockwork 8:30am gentleman, always stopping to pass the time of day with everyone. He delivered flowers to another customer on the arrival of their daughter, chatted each morning with a young local hairdresser on her way to grab a matcha, gave birthday chocolates to the team, and sat with his coffee and croissant while watching Newmarket come to life.

Jeff, you will be terribly missed by all of us, and our mornings will feel very different for quite some time.

Jeff’s family has asked that we let everyone know that his funeral will take place at Bury St Edmunds Crematorium on Thursday 2nd July at midday. They would warmly welcome anyone who would like to pay their respects.

It’s back with a bang! Drag Bingo with Fonda Cox at Victor Victoria Sawston on Saturday 20th June.

£20 ticket includes a drink on arrival and an evening of bingo with 3 hours of loud and lewd cabaret. There’ll be prizes, there’ll be shots, there’ll be high heels, there’ll be moments you wish you weren’t sat with your mum (or daughter/boyfriend…)! Over 18s only.

Drinks will be flowing and the cocktails will be strong. Food platters will be available to pre-order. Doors open at 7pm, entertainment starts at 7.30.
