Recently we’ve been doing lots of BBQ’s at The Red and let’s just say - we LOVE it. Also, look at that bleddy view! How lucky are we.

We have our padron peppers cooking in the flames, our butter bean and courgette cassoulet🤤, chorizo and prawn skewer served over a burnt tomato and rocket salad 😮‍💨and the pork belly glazed in sexy sauces… oh YEAH baby! knows what’s up.

The vibes are immaculate, the food is DELICIOUS and beautiful, and we can’t wait to carry on throughout the summer. We are a friendly pub that welcomes everyone through the door. This week, we’re hoping to have a few barbyz so everyone needs to cross their fingers and wish for bright sunshine☀️. See you in the week!

Show the BBQ and the BBQ’er () some love..🫶🏽

This is our tandoori chicken thigh 🤤

Bloody delicious mind, we’re lighting it up tonight and praying that the weather allows us to show off again! So pop on down, and enjoy the evening with us. Our special tonight is 1/2 of whole crayfish, coated with n’duja butter and cooked on the fire served with salad and chips.. come and av a look!

Come and meet Craig Hawkins, aka Mr Testalonga, the rebel of Swartland…who operates completely under the radar. Unassuming and approachable, yet making some of the most interesting natural wines in South Africa.

With us on Saturday the 18th 1 - 5pm.

Testalonga is a pioneering natural winery in South Africa’s Swartland region. Founded in 2008 by Craig and Carla Hawkins, they champion minimal intervention, organic farming, and wild fermentations. Their portfolio ranges from skin-contact orange wines to vibrant, juicy reds and pet-nats.

“If I could, everything would be aged under the surface of the sea”

Hawkins believes this would be the key to a minimal footprint or interference with the wine, resulting in the cleanest, purest wines with a sense of place or terroir.

We think he’s going to fit in perfectly in our little pub by the sea.
