We are open bank holiday Monday! 930am to 3pm with all the usual good stuff. The Ark Team are very much looking forward to having you.

Good morning! The Newent car park area is having some work done that will be so good for Newent!

Unfortunately our rear entrance is completely blocked today where they are digging up the footpath that crosses our gateway.

So this post is to say that WE ARE OPEN- you can use the front door to come in. We would be delighted if you come, because if everyone gives up we may need to close before our usual Saturday close time of 3pm. ☹️

The good news is that the job is well ahead of schedule and the contractors have put in so much extra time that they have worked until 10/11pm most nights are aiming to finish TODAY- two weeks ahead of schedule! 👏

Did you know that we have a very well used pay it forward board?

If you need it, it’s there to be used. If you would like to bless somebody in the community by paying for a drink or a meal, you can do that at the till all year around.

With it being summer holidays, we are very mindful of the extra pressure on families so our main focus is on providing children’s lunchboxes currently.

Thank you to those who have donated to subsidise this- you know who you are.

There will be a new allocation available every day. The pay it forward board is located on the wall next to the door out to the patio. Take the ticket/s that you need, take your child/ren to the grab and go fridge and they can select their own favourite items- a sandwich, a drink and three items however this summer holiday we would like to offer an extra piece of fruit not included in the items you have chosen. If your child has a dietary requirement, please speak to staff. We don’t want any child to go without.

As the poster says- no judgement, no questions. Just there if you need it all day.

‼️ 🎉 We have some amazing news to share! 🎉‼️
Forest of Dean Baby Bank is opening a Hub at The Ark Cafe - Newent !
The manager of The Ark has kindly offered us space and is hosting our Hub - our very first one! It’s a big step for us but it’s so exciting to be expanding into Newent and having a warm, beautiful place like The Ark to welcome families to come along and get some bits if they need. Our first day is the 8th September from 9:30-11:30 and we will be on hand every Tuesday morning until at least Christmas when we will review and see if we need to be open for more days during the week.
