Is there anywhere better than a farm shop? 🧺

Naturally, our farm shop theme is garlic - fresh, home grown and from our partner farms, and in a huge array of products, from cooking pastes and balsamics to ice cream and beer.🧄

As well as garlic, you'll also find beautiful locally produced food and drinks, freshly baked bread and pastries, tasty small batch products and artisan pieces and gifts. In accordance with our values and mission, we prioritise local, organic and B Corp products. 🥖

We are open from 9am - 5pm daily so come along and stock up. While you're here, why not book into our award-winning restaurant or pop into our Allium Cafe for a bite to eat. See you soon! 🍽️

Young swallows are such a lovely sight on the farm. Watching them dart between the cows, picking off insects with ‘fighter-jet’ precision is great.

Five years ago we stopped using chemical fly control for our cattle, and a year later we stopped using routine chemical parasite control. The impact has been the arrival of dung beetles and a big increase in bird life. Even the words ‘dung beetles’ and ‘swallows’ sound so much better than 'ivermectin’ and ‘pyrethroids’.

Thanks to James Gloyn for this image of a juvenile swallow, taken on our farmland.

Some good news from in our organic market garden…

The harvest is now finished for the year. So what’s next for the parcel of land where it was growing? Barnes explains…

Now the garlic harvest is complete we are immediately sowing the multi-species herbal ley today to get diverse, living roots back in the soil.

When Tolly visited recently he was complimentary of our seed supplier, noting that the establishment had gone well last year.

After a few mixed results on establishing cover crops during the early years of our transition to organic, we’re really hoping to repeat the good momentum of late.
The livestock play such a crucial role in getting these diverse pastures going and then maintaining the vigour and diversity within them.

We’ll report back on this plot in October, when the animals will first graze through lightly on daily moves. Fingers crossed!

Thanks to and 🌱

Dine in our restaurant and treat yourself to a Raspberry & Ginger Cheesecake or a Salted Chocolate & Black Delice. Our desserts are out of this world - ranging from fruity and sweet, to creamy and even garlicky (if that's your thing). Totally delicious, utterly decadent, made to be savoured.

If you're just dropping in, you can head to our Allium Cafe where you'll find a wonderful selection homemade cakes. Or to book a table in our restaurant, please visit: https://bit.ly/3CvicNX
