A very special week for the Nugelato family as Michael Senior turns 80 today and Mary celebrates her 80th Birthday in just a few days! 🎉8️⃣0️⃣❤️
Michael and Mary have both played a huge part in our family business story and in the local community. They worked incredibly hard together in The Strand, Newcastle where countless people were fed hearty meals, famous sausage rolls and treats from the bakery. Many great days out were enjoyed, and generations of local people came through the doors to work alongside them!
A proud Tyrone woman, Mary grew up on a farm and carried that strong work ethic throughout her life. A trained midwife, she went on to train and guide so many young people in The Strand, teaching them far more than simply how to do a job. There were plenty of lifts home after late shifts, and many would say they were trained not only for work, but for life! ❤️
They’re both still involved today. Mary continues to help out, while Big Michael loves being first into Nugelato in the morning to make his coffee and enjoy a little quiet time before the day begins.
Michael is always on hand to fix a freezer or chocolate tap and especially loves visiting the Newry store.
Happy 80th Birthday to Michael today, and an early Happy 80th Birthday to Mary! Thank you both for the hard work, encouragement, life lessons and memories you have given so many people over the years.
