BEHIND THE SCENES
⏰ 8o'clock starts every day this past week. Mornings have become scone mayhem!! 🤪🤣Cheese, blueberry and lemon and cherry and sultana everyday!! 🧀🫐🍋🍒🍇 With the added feta and jalapeño at the weekend🧀🌶️ I'm getting indents on my hands from a scone cutter 🤣🤣
But...5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ scones sold in a week!! 500 of my own scones sold and raved about. The feeling I get inside being told daily "that is the best scone I have ever had" makes it all worth while 🥰
2 late nights prepping and making Rice Crispy Cakes 🍫🍰Pistachio Brownies 💚🍫, Crunchie Rocky Road 🍯and a Corned Beef and Potato Pie 🥧 that a customer asked if I would make and even though I was a little short on time the look on wor Kevin's face when I handed him his slice knowing I've just sorted his tea was priceless!! ♥️
Leaving work at half 3/4o'clock, not 2 because yes everyday we clean the whole place ready for the next (including the public toilets 🚻).
Being asked as we open the shutter to go home "can I just run to the toilet" For me to have to reply with "sorry, unfortunately they've been cleaned, mopped and locked and I'm about to get in the car to leave".
Some days we get a "no bother" other days a mouthful of abuse 🤬
Keep smiling it's just one person who could be having a bad day 😊.
Shopping done, paper work done ✅✅ Now 5 maybe 6 o'clock 🕔
Time for house work, tea and family time followed by everyone watching me fall asleep on the settee 😴😂
ADDED EXTRAS FOR THE WEEK
Fire extinguishers and fire blanket tested 🧯, wholesalers big shop 🛒 meeting set up with the council ✅, 2 posters put up for our local groups📌, 4 hours of driving lessons 🚗, shopping trip for Neil's birthday next week 🎉, trip to the vets for both dog's annual checks 🐕🦮 and a final goodbye to summer and decorated for Autumn resulting in me leaving work at 19:30 on a Sunday night 🍁🎃.
So hopefully this might be a little eye opener for the few people who ask "Why are you JUST open 10 till 2!?" or "You know you'd make more money if you stayed open longer" 🙄 or my all time favourite "I wouldn't mind working just 4 hours". Yes but would you work 10 hours a day 7 days a week? Nope! 😂
We are family run and I am here 7 days a week unless I close so please be nice because let's be honest I'm tired and half Italian so one day someone might get it 🤣🤣🤣
SAD DAYS 🥺😢
Early on this week a lovely gentleman customer of mine came in to tell me he had lost his wife. We welled up and hugged, he told me, he would still make the effort to come along to see me. I cried as I walked back into the shop only to see a white feather waiting for me🪽I promise I'll keep an eye on him.
Thursday I was told we had lost our little Becky 🌈🐾 16 years old!! She lived her best life. I've served her dog biscuits for over 10 years and even though in the last few years with her eyesight going I've had to watch my fat sausage fingers because anything was for the taking 😂

HAPPIER DAYS
On a brighter note 2 customers of mine, who moved away about 2 years ago, came to show me their new puppy!!🐶 Ruby 💗 an absolutely little cutie and I know Rosie will approve 😘
We've had a group of 24 this past week!! A monthly meeting of 7. People from all over the world 🌎 New and old customers. A booking for 12 next week. It's none stop and everyday is new and exciting.
I might have a moan and a heavy sigh some days or most but I love my job and I feel like the luckiest person in the world. Surrounded daily by not just customers but friends/family 🥰😘💗
So I just want to say a little thank you for all the lovely comments, chats, hugs, and laughs because let's be honest if you don't hear me cackling at least once throughout the day there is something seriously wrong 🤣🤣🤣 love you all 💗💗💗
