Nestled in the heart of the historical Newcastle Quayside and hidden behind an unassuming facade,
Solstice by Kenny Atkinson which holds a Michelin Star ⭐️ offers a very distinctive dining experience for the city of Newcastle.

As a guest at Solstice, you will not be presented with a menu on arrival.
Our menu has been carefully created by Kenny Atkinson and Head Chef Scott John Hodgson, through a procession of courses which is inspired and led by the British seasons and the very best produce available.

From our open plan kitchen our team of chefs as well as our Restaurant Manager Rachel Lenham will serve every course to all our guests, as well as finishing a lot of our dishes in front of the diner, explaining the produce and passion behind our dishes.

Today marks four years since we first opened the doors at Solstice.

In those four years we have maintained our Michelin star ⭐️, become a firm listing in the UK Top 100 National Restaurant Awards and achieving 4 AA Rosettes last year.

As Solstice continues to grow and mature into one of the UK’s finest dining experiences, we need to acknowledge our amazing team whom have played their part of that success.
Their hard work, passion and commitment has been amazing to watch 👏🏻💪🏻💥

AUSTRALIAN BLACK TRUFFLE

One of our favourite luxury ingredients which always features on our menus at Solstice.

Fresh Australian Black Winter Truffles have a dark Gleba (marbled interior) and a deeply intense aroma and flavour.

This variety of fresh truffle bring a huge depth of flavour and umami hit, and are amongst the best, strongest and most truffley variety of fresh truffle.

These Black Winter Truffles are sourced from the world-renowned truffle paradise in Manjimup, Western Australia,
grown during their winter time. Resulting in the world’s best truffles being available to us in the UK between June and September.

Black Winter Truffles have a complex and deep flavour profile, with notes of heavy mushroom, chocolate, liquorice, and strawberries.

OYSTER

Lindisfarne Oyster is lightly steamed in shell to allow the oyster to slowly poach in its own juices.

The oyster is removed from shell and trimmed, mirin pickled cucumber dice is placed in the base of the shell and topped with the hot steamed oyster.

The oyster is then coated in a little oyster & bonito butter sauce and finished with Exmoor Oscietra Caviar.

We finish the oyster at table with a Shio Koji Foam.

Shio koji is a versatile Japanese fermented seasoning made from salt, water, and rice koji, this adds a wonderful acidity and a natural umami kick.

On our tasting menu now on both lunch and dinner at Solstice.

We are absolutely delighted that our restaurant
Solstice was placed no.42 in the UK Top 100 National Restaurant Awards on Monday night.

This is our fourth year in a row since we opened Solstice that we have been placed in the UK Top 100 National Restaurants Awards which makes us very proud and honoured.

Thank you to everyone in our amazing industry whom have visited us and voted for us 💛🙌🏻😍

Well done to our team too whom have worked so hard to keep pushing the standards each day 💛🙌🏻.
