These will likely be the only 4 bags we have available for you to buy of this coffee and they’re only available to buy at the shop so apologies to those of you that live further afield.
Due to the price I doubt they’ll “fly off the shelves” but if this is your thing or you know someone who’s thing it is, you may want top pop in this weekend and grab a bag.
Alternatively it’s also on our main coffee menu which means we’ll make a drink with it for you at our standard coffee prices but when it’s gone that’s it, none left and unlikely to return.

Shelves fully stocked for our second busiest weekend for retail coffee bag sales of the year…the busiest weekend is the one after Christmas when everyone who didn’t get the coffee they wanted come in and buy it for themselves.

SAD NEWS…

This weekend saw the removal of our outside decking area. Unfortunately this was a decision that is out of our hands as we need to make way for access to the building site opposite.

By the end of the next week the barrier of the building work will move halfway across the road and the decking was simply in the way of where traffic could go.

We are a little worried about what this will mean for the business. Losing the outdoor seating will be a huge loss over the warmer months, since we’ve had it summer has been a much busier time for us so we need to prepare now to try and offset any loss of business over the next 2 summers. Work should be finished in autumn 2026 which should see offices full of workers accords the road which will obviously be a huge opportunity for us so we just need to get through until then.

Were also concerned what the impact of the barrier moving closer to the shop will have, will it make it more difficult to get to us? Will it be off putting to customers? We won’t really know until it’s done but we hope you will all still visit as you normally do.

To be fair to the contractors they are helping in all the ways they can, they met me in person to discuss how they can help and apologised for the unavoidable disruption. They removed the decking at their own cost and we have discussed other options that may help mitigate loss of custom.

I know a lot of you really enjoyed sitting outside (even with a building site opposite) and it was a lovely sun trap on those glorious days so I’m sorry we can’t offer you that anymore. It also looks as though once the work finished we won’t be able to reinstate the outdoor area but things can change and we hope we can get something back for summer 2027 but it’s looking unlikely based on conversations I’ve had.

The good news is nothing changes inside, we’ll still be here with a smile on our faces to serve you food and drinks and it’s lovely and cosey in winter so at least we’re not losing that.

Hopefully see you all soon.

This post is for the coffee lovers amongst you.
We have 3 brand new coffee on our brew bar menu this weekend. We roasted them on Friday and wow they smell incredible!
For this of you that know we sourced our first ever direct trade coffee with La Palma El Tucan and this sits as our number 3 option on the brew bar, quite pricey at £15/carafe however we also have a coffee from the same farm as our number 2 coffee on our main coffee menu, this means you can have it any style you like, espresso, flat white, pour over etc but at our standard coffee prices! This one is not to be missed, honestly it’s a joy just making the coffee as we get to smell it as it’s ground. It won’t last long and we have a couple of bags to sell if you want to take some home or buy them as a gift.

Our famous Moroccan Avocado on toast, this one is on our gluten free bread but is served on toasted sourdough as standard. I opted for the optional extra salmon this time but poached eggs go perfectly too. If you’re feeling hungry you could add both.

Espresso anyone? We always have 2 coffees to choose from and we can make any drink from our menu using them. Today we have our house coffee from Brazil which has a classic coffee profile with lovely milk chocolate and toffee notes and the number 2 is a Kenyan, again a classic coffee from this origin, juicy and fruity. So whether you drink espresso, filter or flat whites you can choose your beans.

Another new dish on the menu, Continental Club Sandwich. Serrano ham, Brie, mortadella, marinated tomato, house pesto and rocket all layered between 2 toasted croissants. A lovely, vibrant twist on the ol’ chicken and bacon club.
