Marios is now permanently closed down. We have relocated to Basilico restaurant on Gosforth High Street.

We would like to thank all our customers for your support over the years and we hope to see you at Basilico soon! We brought the chef and a few familiar faces with us too!

Dear all customers,

We regret to inform you that we will not be opening Mario restaurant in the immediate future, as the size/space of the premises makes it unviable under the social distancing restrictions.

However, we are pleased to inform you that we will be focusing all our efforts on our sister restaurant Basilico for the time being. We will be opening Basilico on 4th of July.

To all customers, we hope you are all staying safe in these uncertain times. Our sister restaurant Basilico will soon be opening for takeout/delivery. Our takeout menu is to be finalised and we will update you in due course. Thank you.

After 40 years it is with great sadness that we are temporarily closing down.

Although we tried to weather to storm it is no longer practical nor safe for us to continue trading. It has been a devastating decision to make for our family business. However, in light of the governments further advice to avoid restaurants it seems the sensible decision for us.

We would like to wish all our customers over the years the very best during these trying times, and thank you for your continued support.

We have every confidence we will be back as strong as ever once this is all over. In the meantime take care of each other and be safe.
