We are only 5 miles from the famous Newbury racecourse. We have a huge garden area alongside our tipi! The Craven Arms is a charming 17th century pub that can be found in the picturesque village of Enborne, just outside Newbury in Berkshire. Our beautiful country pub serves delicious, seasonal, good quality food and beverage in traditional pub surroundings. Full of character the pub boasts wooden

beams, a fireplace and large traditional bar. There are several cosy seating area. The pub has one of the largest pub gardens in the area, which includes a children's play area complete with an amazing tipi tent which is heated in colder weather. The garden has plenty of seating areas complete with tables and parasols. There is also ample parking for all. We can cater any type of event including weddings, birthday parties, anniversary parties, baby showers, class reunion, corporate events, family reunions, funeral wakes, office parties and graduation parties. Have you noticed the pub smells a bit different lately? 👀

With the weather starting to cool off and everyone heading back in the pub, you might have noticed a rather nice smell when you walk through the door…

It’s our new Orama Luxury Home Fragrances diffuser, and at the moment we’ve got BOSS Bottled filling the pub.

It’s one of those little things you might not consciously notice, but it definitely makes the place smell good! 😂

If you like a proper pint, you’ll want to know about this one… 🍺

6X has been brewed by Wadworth in Wiltshire since 1923 and has become a bit of a classic.

It’s 4.1%, amber, malty and fruity with just the right amount of hop bitterness. The sort of pint that’s very easy to settle into. 🍻

And yes, there’s a story behind the name. The original 6X was 6% and would have been marked with six crosses on the cask. One of Wadworth’s coopers shortened it to “6X” and, well… the name stuck!

Over 100 years later, you can still order yourself a pint at The Craven Arms.

We think that’s worth raising a glass to. 🍺

Bank Holiday weekend is almost here, and you know what that means… roasts are booking up fast!

Crackling-topped pork with apple compote, 28-day aged rump with horseradish, slow-cooked lamb shoulder with mint sauce, or lemon & thyme chicken supreme or go for the trio and choose three meats on one plate.

All served with roast potatoes, parsnip, seasonal veg, pigs in blankets, sausage meat stuffing, Yorkshire pudding & beef dripping gravy.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting one of our Wednesday regulars for a beautiful family and friends afternoon in the tipi, complete with a farmhouse table lunch fit for the occasion. Safe to say no one left hungry.
