AT LAST!!!
We have finally been given permission to open up to non-residents and goodness it’s seems so long since the first lockdown.
We’ve invested in a new coffee machine so that we can offer a great range of coffee to compliment the cakes and as before there will be baked goodies to take away.

We are opening fully as from 10.00 on Thursday 11th November.
Our opening hours will be as follows:-
Tuesday - Breakfast, coffee & cakes 10-11.30, lunch 12- 2
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
Coffee & cakes 10-12 lunch 12 -2
Sunday - coffee & cakes 10.30 - 11.30, lunch 12 - 2

Booking essential on Friday & Sunday lunch & helpful at all other times.

Thank you to those of you who have booked for our takeaway Christmas lunch, we are very grateful.

Our business is hanging by a thread as we have never been able to open since March and, having been in the pub/restaurant trade for many years feel so sorry for both pubs, restaurants and local retail businesses who must be so worried for their futures.

On the eve of Hungerford businesses opening again and knowing that their futures are probably depending on the Christmas trade for survival please everyone bear this in mind.
Do we really want to see our lovely high street full of empty shops?, I think not ... so , if everyone can think about buying at least one Christmas gift locally it will make a massive difference.
Come on everyone, let’s support our high street so that we don’t become a ghost town.

Hello everyone
Just a quick update on Redwood restaurant.
Unfortunately we are still unable to open due to the risk to residents within the building but we are still here and very much looking forward to the possibility of opening before the spring once this wretched virus is under control.
We are thinking ahead to Christmas and we will be providing a Takeaway Christmas lunch to some of our residents. If you or anyone you know would like a lunch on Christmas Day we will be happy to provide this for collection on the day. It will be ready to plate & re-heat and will consist of the following:-

Roast crown of Norfolk turkey with chestnut stuffing & cranberry sauce served with pigs in blankets, duck fat roasted potatoes, roasted parsnips, seasonal vegetables & gravy followed by Christmas pudding & brandy custard & mince pies.
Cost will be £20.00 per person

Hello Everyone
Just wanted to keep our lovely customers informed during this difficult time. Sadly, due to the fact that the restaurant is located within an assisted living apartment block with no outside access we are still unable to open. Obviously the safety of our residents is paramount.
However, we still have access to our kitchen through a separate entrance so we can still cook.
I have been busy making jams & jellies which I sell at £3.50 for a full size jar.
Should anyone require family sized meals, pies, quiches, cakes, cream teas, freezer fillers etc we would be happy to discuss your requirements.
We can cater for small or large dinner parties, curry nights, preparing the meal for you to heat and pass off as your own....we won’t tell if you don’t.

It is with a heavy heart that we have had to make the decision to close the restaurant to the public with immediate effect to protect our residents for whom we will continue to provide meals.
For those who have booked for Mothering Sunday we are very sorry but sure you will understand.
Keep safe everyone and hopefully this will be over within the not too distant future.

Hello folks
Just to let you all know that we are back open again after our break.
With the festive season upon us we are offering free restaurant hire during December for bespoke evening Christmas parties to suit your budget. You can create your own menu, minimum amount of guests 20. Bring your own wine with no corkage charge, wine glasses provided.

Christmas Day - £35.00 per head, traditional menu with choice of starters, main course and pudding, complimentary fizz on arrival. Call for details 01488 684544.

Thanks to everyone who came to our French evening, it was so lovely to have a full house and a big THANK YOU for your fantastic feedback. Will keep you posted regarding forthcoming events.

A reminder that we still do outside catering and bespoke dinner party dishes that you can pass off as your own!! (We won't tell if you don't)

Just a reminder that at Redwood restaurant we are professional award winning chefs who cook everything from scratch, sadly 90%of our residents have never even walked through the door. Every day there are many choices of home cooked dishes and at least 10 home cooked puddings. There is nothing on the menu above £6.50, our daily special includes a free pudding for £5 or £6 for non residents. We use the best of everything as we believe that you never serve what you wouldn't be prepared to eat yourself.
Bearing that in mind many residents and locals are alone and eat ready meals from frozen food companies or from local supermarkets. These meals are mass produced, full of preservatives, salt and hidden sugars.....
Why haven't you tried us?
If you have been to us and we know we have many loyal regulars, please pass this on. Our Sunday lunch (2 courses for £8.95 is exactly the same as we used to serve in our award winning pubs for £12.95 this includes at least 4 freshly cooked vegetables, Maris piper potatoes, home made Yorkshire puddings and meat juice gravy....not an aunt Bessie in site.

Hope to see you all tomorrow at the Redwood Fete. Lots of goodies on sale, cream teas, hog rolls & hot dogs as well as our stall with loads of home made cakes, quiches, cookies, jams, sausage rolls, fudge etc
Weather not looking too bad. Hope the Fete is well attended as everyone has put in so much effort.
