It’s with a heavy heart that we announce our closure.
It’s been a very challenging few years and unfortunately, we have been left with no other choice.
To all our customers, who have been part of our journey for the last 9 years, we thank you for supporting us, it’s been a pleasure to be part of Newark.

We received some very sad news this morning, about one of our owners sons and ex colleague of ours. Unfortunately he passed away last night, in a tragic accident , this has come as a shock and hit us all very hard. Please bear with us during this difficult time. We hope to be back open early next week but will post any updates here. Thank you.

Unfortunately we will no longer be taking any more bookings for afternoon teas. If you have purchased a Groupon voucher we will still honour this up until the voucher expiry date. If you already have a booking it will still go ahead.
We have had too many people cancel on the actual day of the booking, or not showing up for a booking. This leads to a lot of waste as mostly everything is homemade on the day , as a small business we can’t afford to be wasting food. Thanks for your understanding.

Balmforth & co will be closed tomorrow 19th September 2022. In honour of her majesty the Queen's funeral, so all staff can pay their respect. We will be back open as normal on Tuesday 20th September.

We are looking for 2 part time baristas / cafe assistants to joint our team ASAP , ideally before Christmas, each position will be around 21 hours a week over 3 days between the hours of 8am-4pm and include working Saturdays. Experience would be preferred but not essential as full training will be given. Please either apply on here or email or CV to [email protected] or bring your cv into balmforth & co on kirkgate.
