The Lock keepers Coffee House & Bar

The Lock Keepers coffee House is a beautiful listed cottage which sits on the canal tow path and the river’s edge and just a few yards from Newark Castle; with plenty of outdoor seating it is perfect for relaxing and watching the boats and swans go by and enjoying the beautiful surroundings, all this just a stone’s throw from the town’s shopping centre. Inside there are 3 separate rooms each with their own ‘personality’ and views of the river which are ideal for small meetings and gatherings. Of its many original features is a fresh water well, and an open fire, perfect to warm and relax into conversation on winter evenings or join in and play board and table games, watch a film at our ‘Cinima Paradiso’ nights, or mind boggling quiz nights, or just lose yourself in a good book and talk about it at our book club. We also arrange coffee and tea cupping and wine tasting evenings with samples from around the world and discussing their histories and traditional serving styles. At The Lock Keepers Coffee House you will find a selection of delicious fine loose leaf teas and coffee blends, and in the near future, selected fine wines and beers. The Lock Keepers supports local creatives and welcome artists and musicians to exhibit and perform, and welcome charities and groups to hold events here. We are always open to suggestions, so let us know your thoughts. ?
