๐๐๐ AN EVENING UNDER THE SKIES AT THE NEST! ๐ ๐๐
Something rather special is happening this Wednesday 12th Augustโฆ and we thought it would be lovely to experience it together at The Nest!
Not only are we going to see a partial solar eclipse, but Wednesday night also coincides with the peak of the Perseid meteor shower. ๐
So, with beautiful weather forecast, weโre opening The Nest from 5.30pm and making an evening of it!
โ๏ธ Make your own pinhole eclipse viewer
Come along early and make a simple viewer to safely watch the eclipse by projection.
๐ฐ Drink & Cake โ just ยฃ5
Grab a drink and a slice of cake and settle in for the evening.
๐งบ Borrow one of our picnic blankets
Find yourself a spot outside, get comfortable and enjoy the surroundings while we watch the skies.
๐ The eclipse
Here in Kent, the partial eclipse begins at around 6.18pm, reaches its maximum at around 7.13pm and finishes just after 8pm.
๐ Then look out for the Perseids!
Wednesday night is also the peak of the Perseid meteor shower. The best meteor viewing will be later, once the sky is properly dark, but itโs a lovely night to keep looking up!

Wednesday 12th August
๐ From 5.30pm
No need to book โ just come along!
โ ๏ธ Eclipse safety: Never look directly at the Sun. Our homemade pinhole viewers work by projecting an image of the Sun โ you do not look through them. Ordinary sunglasses are not safe for viewing the Sun.
Bring the children, meet up with friends, borrow a blanket and join us for coffee, cake, an eclipse and hopefully a shooting star or two! โ๏ธ๐๐ ๐งบ๐ฐ
