It’s lovely to see a bit of autumn sunshine today 🍂

It's Midweek already, and the perfect time to pop in and pick up a few treats ready for the weekend.

Just a little reminder that **we’re CLOSED TOMORROW (Thursday)** for a planned power cut, but back open on Friday from 10am 😃

And if you’re one of those without power today and you’re needing some hot water for flasks, tea or coffee, just pop in and see us — you’re more than welcome to use ours. 🥰

Happy International Coffee Day! ☕️

Coffee has become a big part of things here at Food for Thought and over the last year we’ve loved working with a whole range of brilliant local coffee roasters through our Resident Roaster Series. ☕️

It’s been a great excuse to discover new coffees, meet the people behind them and most importantly, share them with you. Every coffee we serve is barista made — just the way you like it.

Last night we attended the Latte Art Masterclass at The Coffee Apothecary We’ve definitely picked up a few new tricks! A big thank you to Jonny at The Coffee Apothecary for last night.

You might just be seeing a little more of The Coffee Apothecary around on our shelves very soon… 🤎

We’re open today 10am–5pm, so if you’re passing, pop in for a wee Thursday coffee — and for today only we are offering 10% off all takeaway coffee drinks! ☕️

APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED 🥰

A LITTLE BIT OF NEWS FROM US 🤎

We’re looking for someone new to join our wee team at Food for Thought!

One of the things we love most about the shop is having time to chat with customers, getting to know customers, recommend something new and making our customers visit feel a little more personal. That’s a big part of what makes our wee Deli what it is so as we continue to grow, we want to make sure we can keep doing just that — and even more! 👀

So, we’re looking for someone friendly, reliable and hardworking to help us out around 8 hours a week, with some additional hours available too.

The role will be seasonal and involve:

📱 Helping with our social media - taking photos, sharing what’s happening and bringing a bit more of Food for Thought to life online
☕️ Making coffees
🥪 Preparing sandwiches
🧀 Cutting cheese
🤎 Serving customers & having a good chat
🛍️ Stocking shelves & keeping the shop looking its best
✨ All the other little jobs that come with a busy wee deli

Experience is great, but personality is just as important to us and our customers as training will be given. If you’re someone who enjoys people, good food and being part of a small independent business and someone who’s happy to get stuck in then this might just be the job for you!

It’s finally the weekend 🤎

Were open today from 10am till 4pm 🕰

We’ve got some lovely Baron Bigod in the cabinet today. Soft, creamy and buttery, and it never lasts long, so be quick if you’re after some.

We’ve also got a new Autumn special starting this weekend — Spiced Apple Crumble Fudge Latte 🍎☕️ Last week’s Autumn special completely wiped us out, so we’re hoping this one gets the same reaction!

And yesterday we were delighted to meet Cooper, who was very happy to receive his gravy bone 🐶

There’s definitely a little autumn feeling in the deli just now 🍂

We’re really happy to have Haar Coffee back as our resident roaster, after so many of you asked for them to return. We’ve got a lovely range of their beans in store too, if you fancy taking some home.

And to get the weekend started, we’ve made something a bit special…

The Maple 🍁

Haar espresso, maple, salted maple cold foam and a little sprinkle of cinnamon. A proper autumnal coffee, and we’re loving it.
We’ll be here tomorrow from 10am–5pm. Come in, have a coffee, pick up some beans and say hello. 🧡

And just like that, we’re back… 🍂

Feeling refreshed after our wee break and ready to get stuck back in. We’re topped up and ready to go again, with deliveries of all your favourites arriving throughout the rest of the week.

The autumn drinks are starting to make an appearance too and we’ve got some rather delicious autumn specials up our sleeves, which we’ll be sharing with you over the next few days. 🍁

🥳 HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATRICK 🥳

Well… it’s that time of year again where we have to pretend Patrick is the favourite. 🎂🥳

For those of you who know us, you’ll know Patrick and I are never far away from a bit of banter — and today, unfortunately for him, I’ve decided to hijack the page and have my say! 😏😂

So from me, Colin, Louie and everyone here, we want to wish our very own Patrick a MASSIVE Happy Birthday! 🥳🎉

Now, we all know there’s some serious favouritism going on around here…
Patrick gets away on a weeks HOLIDAY for his birthday…

Whereas when it’s MY birthday, apparently I’m expected to turn up, work hard and still make our supper at night.
Funny how that works, isn’t it Patrick? 👀😂

For those of you who see us at the weekend, you’ll know Patrick is our resident weekend boy. 😏😂 He’s become far too comfortable in his role too — and recently he’s been getting VERY confident behind the coffee machine, trying his absolute best to beat me to making the coffees.

I’ll let him have his moment… but deep down, he knows mine taste better. 😂😂

Jokes aside, Patrick is a massive part of what we do here. He’s always there at the weekends, keeping you lot entertained, having a laugh with everyone, and making sure things keep ticking along — even if he does think he’s now some sort of professional barista! 😂

We’re incredibly lucky to have him, and I know so many of you love seeing him when you pop in at the weekend. ❤️

So when you see our birthday boy when he returns from his very deserved birthday holiday (🙄😂), make sure you wish him a massive Happy Birthday! 🥳🎂
