A very impressive 90%+ partial eclipse on Wednesday sent to us by An Drea who filmed it from the bank infront of the Harp 🙂 You may have seen her set up on one of the benches. Thanks everyone for coming down getting a drink and being patient with the queues... we thought maybe a few people would come and enjoy it here but it was lovely and busy !! 🌒

We often meet some amazing people passing through and after spotting an artist painting outside the Harp the other week we went over and she introduced herself as Sue Wild. A bit of research found she was a prominent artist in New Zealand and painted for King Charles when he was the Prince of Wales on a royal tour! Well to our suprise a few days later she brought what she'd been working on as a gift... Very grateful to receive this incredible piece of work!

For the second year running, we’ve made The Telegraph’s Best Pubs in the UK in 2026 and Top 500 in England! Incredible news. We really do live in a special part of the world, our stunning views and a proper pint of real ale are putting Neston firmly back on the map!

​Of all the amazing pubs on the Wirral Peninsula, to be one of the four selected is a fantastic feeling.

Our updated menu is up and running and is live on our website now. Our current highlight is the fish and chips, prepared fresh everyday by the chef. It's gone down a treat so far with those who have tried it! If you fancy something smaller or a few plates for the table whilst you enjoy a few pints, the BBQ ribs are genuinely not to be missed. We serve food daily til 3pm. No Sunday roasts at the moment just the lunch menu throughout summer, they will return in the Autumn x

Another week of warm-ish weather on the cards then🥵 Tomorrow (Saturday 11th) we'll have Chiefs pizza van down here so you can enjoy a few pre-match pints with a bite to eat in the sun!

A guest ale we've not had down here before ... Named after a 3 legged cat, not the fella who had a few too many 😂 it's award-winning and it's deceptively strong. We think it's worth a taste!
