25yrs ago, Wednesday 16th May 2001 at 2pm, I took the reins over as Bryncoch Post Office’s new postmistress from Mrs Beryl Williams who had been here 30 yrs. Never did I expect to still be here running it today πŸ₯°

Moving to a new area with my family, not knowing anything about the business was a bold move. I’ve loved every minute.

It has to be said it hasn’t been without its ups and downs. They tried to close me down 3 times. 2016 was the hardest times. Post Office Ltd decided to take away my core tier payment, (my basic salary) and said β€œput in another business to run alongside the PO or close”
This was when the coffee shop was born. This was done purely to keep the Post Office in the village, exactly where it has been for over 100yrs

Without the support of you, the community of Bryncoch and its surrounding areas, we would never have survived. I am extremely grateful to you all for the truly amazing support.

I can’t predict what will happen in the next 25yrs as the world is a different place to when I started, and I’m getting older 🀣
but here’s to now and whatever the future brings πŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸ₯³

Thank you πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

πŸŽ„** HUGE APPRECIATION POST **πŸŽ„

Can’t believe a week has passed since the official lighting of our stunning, village Christmas tree πŸŽ„ What an amazing evening it was too.
So many of you turned out, despite the intermittent rain, and joined in singing carols sung beautifully by the scouts and brownie groups πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Huge thanks to Bryncoch Co-op, they collected a whopping Β£308.45p for us, as well as donating the well packed hamper along with 2 bottles of Prosecco for the raffle and copious amounts of mince pies πŸ˜‹ Well done we say πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Father Christmas himself, what can we say, isn’t he just the best?πŸŽ… He gave out 76 selection boxes, spoke, listened to every child, whilst taking note of everything they asked him for as well as having the obligatory photo at no cost πŸ₯°πŸŽ…

This year we had to purchase our beautiful tree but would love to thank all the people that have so generously donated them to us in previous years. We have been so lucky πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

So many other people to thank for making the event happen.
Mark Selby, never fails to help position the tree and make it secure. πŸͺ“πŸ‘¨πŸΌβ€πŸš’
Chris Watkins, shimmying up the tree to put the lights in position. Not for the faint hearted πŸ˜…
Paul Travers for putting the majority of the decs on in the pouring rain 🌧️
The Children of Bryncoch CIW, Blaenhonddan, Ysgol MaesYCoed and Ysgol Hendrefelin for making the colourful decorations πŸŽ„
The 5th Scouts(Bryncoch) group and 1st Caewern Brownies for entertaining us with their carol singing 🎢
Miss Teen Neath Port Talbot Galaxy 2025/26 Azaria Day for helping and presenting the donations we gave to The Scouts, Brownies and Bryncoch Enviroment Group. Each had £150 😁
Sian Davies for capturing the event πŸ“Έ

And last but definitely not least, you, the Bryncoch community, for supporting, turning up and purchasing raffle tickets. We raised Β£341 in tickets sales alone and they were literally on sale for a week πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Love how colourful our community tree is especially in this dreary weather.

Thank you all,

Julie, Joanne and Karen

The tree is up πŸŽ„ The decorations are on πŸŽ„ Just awaiting for the official switch on by Father Christmas himself πŸŽ…πŸ»

Come along and join us tomorrow
SUNDAY 30th NOVEMBER at 4.30pm at Bryncoch Post Office, Main Road, Bryncoch.

This is the seventh consecutive year, the spectacular lights, the colourful decs made by the very artistic children of all the four schools in the village and the joining in singing carols with the Bryncoch Scouts and Brownie groups, has occurred.

After the official switch on, why not bring your child to see Father Christmas in his grotto. Every child will get a free small gift 🎁 .

This is a truly wonderful event. πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸ»πŸŽΆβ„οΈβ˜ƒοΈ

For the first time, we will also be welcoming, our very own Miss Teen Neath Port Talbot Galaxy 2025/26, Miss Azaria Day. She will be presenting donations, made by us, The Bryncoch Village Community Group, to the Scouts, Brownies and the Bryncoch Enviroment Group, for the stirling work they do in our community.

Raffle tickets will be available on the night

Your support as always is very much appreciated πŸŽ„πŸŽπŸŽ…
