are far pickier about what and where we eat these days, and intelligent fryers realise that the chippy must adapt. The menu was developed with traditional meals in mind but offering healthy options too. You will find all of the firm favourites available and fish and chips are still the best seller, You will also find traditional Welsh food on the menu with options such as Welsh Faggots and Our very popular home made Rissoles ( cheese & corned beef ) our home made fish cakes are made of full of fish and our secret Shillingfords seasoning , we cannot make them fast enough ! If you talk to any of the staff at Shillingfords, you will notice that they are very happy in their work and proud to serve the quality food at very competitive prices. It’s all about being honest and open; you won’t find any hidden charges. The sourcing of ingredients is also of utmost importance to Allan and you can see that the quality of the produce is of the highest standard when you eat at Shillingfords. Shillingfords cater for Children’s parties, Coach parties and can provide options for those larger meetings or gatherings you may have. When you visit Shillingfords in the Neath area you will find something for everyone , even deserts !! with our very popular locally sourced custard slices and New !! GG’s Gelato with 12 different varieties to choose from . The Shillingfords shop has a food hygiene rating of 5 which means the premises and processes are to the highest level available from the food standards agency.

After a year of trading these guys have had to close due to financial circumstances… feeling very humble as always never forgetting my roots .. good thing is we are still here after 37 years means the absolute world to me .. massive thank you for all your support ,without you guys we wouldn’t be here . Humungous thank you from me and the Shilly team …

We are moving forward as what’s with our new menu and new introductions for you guys to try … from loaded fries to lunch boxes and free deliveries on orders of a certain amount …. Coming soon so please keep an eye out for the launch of our new menu …

Carl's Jr has quietly closed its Wind Street restaurant in Swansea, less than a year after opening, but will continue to offer delivery through a ghost kitchen🍔

🍔 The American burger chain opened on Wind Street in September 2025 as only its second UK location, following its Cardiff launch earlier that year. It has now been removed from the Carl's Jr UK locations page, with Google also listing it as permanently closed.

🇺🇸 Carl's Jr is a California-born chain founded in 1941, known for its chargrilled burgers, hand-breaded chicken and indulgent milkshakes. Its UK operation is run by Boparan Restaurant Group, which had ambitious plans to open 100 UK sites by 2029.

📉 The Swansea closure comes amid wider turbulence for the brand in the US, where a large franchisee operating 59 Carl's Jr restaurants in California filed for bankruptcy in April 2026 and began closing underperforming locations.

📍 The Cardiff branch at St David's Shopping Centre appears to still be operating.

With regret we will be closed today. Due to this lovely boiling hot weather and the heat that no fans nor even aircon can accommodate .. I have made the executive decision and decided to close for the day and hopefully tomorrow will be a little easier and more comfortable to work in .🙏🏽. So the shillly gang can enjoy a nice sunny day off .. 🥰
